Hey guys i am back with a travelogue to Hampi which was done on 11th of November.

As it was Diwali Holidays, thought to spend some time in a different way.

For close to 6 months there was no trips planned, thanks to office work.

This time pinned the plan, where i should head to.

Hampi was the only place that came to mind.

This was planned long back almost an year ago.http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...durai-rameshwaram-kanyakumari.html#post124049

As usual the hawk was all ready, tank filled up previous day.

Nitrogen was topped up a week ago.

Then the excitement of driving, hardly i slept for 4 hours before the journey.

The plan was to leave as early as 4 am, i woke up at 4am by the time others got ready it was 5:45 am.

All the luggage was loaded into the car.

Route followed:Bangalore-NICE Road-Tumkur-Chitradurga(deviation to right)-Hospet-Hampi-Mantralayam(Unexpected)

Total distance:1050 kms in 3days

Route condition: Once you cross Tumkur, until you reach Chitradurga you keep on deviating all the way.

To reach the Hospet route take the left near the bridge where there is a deviation to Chitradurga, and take right under the bridge which has a board mentioned Sholapur 419 kms.

Wow, another long drive from the Hawk, I am glued to this thread for more pics. I have been to these places a few years back (till harihara) by bike so your photos, brought back my memories. Thanks a lot.

I am sure your car would have soaked most patchy bumps with ease. Continue sharing more about the trip, your most loved places en route etc.

Contd....

Once we were on this stretch its a single lane all the way with lot of overtaking from the opposite direction.

Roads are not that bad, but a few stretch are frequently patchy.

Once you reach near Tunghabadra dam the tunnel work is going on, which looks like sea water, roads are pretty bad for low GC cars who have to proceed with caution.

Within 12 pm we were into Hospet with the help of MMI reached Hotel Malligi, Hospet.

Had an excellent lunch at the restaurant.

Initially when we tried to book through online, all the rooms were said to be booked, on inquiring plenty of rooms were empty.

Rested for two hours, around 3'O clock proceeded to Hampi, which is just 12.3 kms from this place.

The roads leading to Hampi are in pretty bad shape at few sections and one side of stretch for 500-600 mts are under construction.

Hampi is situated at the Northern part of Karnataka.

A civilization of Hindus that was ruled under Vijayanagar Empire, which was evaded by Deccan Muslims
