Jaipur, June 20, 2017: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), the No. 1 scooter manufacturer in India today unveiled CLIQ– an all new 110cc offering specially developed to maximize utility with additional value of comfort and convenience for utilitarian customers.

Reiterating Honda’s next big step on taking scooterization beyond metros, Mr. Minoru Kato- President and CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Six out of 10 two wheelers sold in India belong to 100-110cc segment. Within this segment, automatic scooters have witnessed tremendous growth and now count for almost half of the total size. With the highly increasing demand and varied customer needs, this segment is poised to sub segmentation. As the leaders of scooter category, Honda has developed CLIQ which would address the needs of customers with additional value of comfort and convenience.

Mr. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Focused at up-country customers with a progressive mindset, CLIQ is a perfect blend of Practicality, Versatility and value for money. Breaking the price barrier of automatic transmission on two wheels, only Honda as the market leader in automatic scooters with its unparalleled economies of scale & assured Trust, could challenge traditional preferences by bringing this kind of disruption in the 100-110cc segment.”

‘CLIQ’ Delivers maximum utility with practicality

An industry first in terms of OEM fitment in the 100-110cc 2wheeler category, CLIQ’s special block pattern tires with deep grooves provide extra grip and better control over patchy roads under all weather conditions. These rugged tires are also more durable and have a longer life.

Wide & spacious foot-board, large under-seat storage space and rear carrier (optional) enhance the comfort and utility of increased load carrying capacity.

Honda Reliability & Trust

CLIQ is powered by the trusted 110cc Honda BS-IV HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine, which delivers superb mileage with no compromise in performance. With the engine delivering 5.91 Kw of power and a kerb weight of only 102 kgs, it has one of the best power to weight ratio which makes it extremely exciting to ride.

Ahead of its time, CLIQ comes equipped with Combi Brake System (CBS) with Equalizer technology. (As per Government regulations, CBS will be mandatory on all two-wheelers up to 125cc engine capacity from April 1, 2018). The unique Equalizer in Honda’s advanced Combi Brake System (CBS) distributes braking force proportionately between front and rear wheels simultaneously by pressing just the left lever. This results in reduced braking distance & improved balance, leading to more confident riding compared to conventional braking.

Better comfort with convenience

CLIQ’s unisex design makes it equally comfortable to be ridden by both male and female riders. Far more convenient than using clutch and engaging gears, CLIQ’s automatic transmission ensures low cost of ownership and a smoother ride. With lower seat height, lighter weight, CLIQ is easy to manoeuvre through dense traffic as well as narrow lanes.

The Mobile charging socket ensures that you always remain connected while tubeless tyres, maintenance free battery and viscous air filter adds to the convenience of the rider.

Optional Accessories

Customers can choose from a variety of optional parts including Front Screen, Floor Cover, Box Center, Cap Cover, Rear Grip which would enhance both utility and aesthetics of CLIQ. These parts can be selected individually by the customer and are economically priced.

Colours, Variants and Availability

CLIQ is manufactured at Honda’s 2nd factory in Tapukara, Alwar District of Rajasthan. Starting with Rajasthan, it will be made available for sale across India in a stage wise manner. The new CLIQ comes in four attractive colours: Patriotic Red with White, Black, Moroccan Blue with White, and Orcus Grey. It is available for sale in Standard & Graphic variants and very attractively priced starting at Rs. 42,499 ex showroom, Delhi.

Looks like TIGOR of 2 wheelers...

I mean new design...
Bud, though I do not have much knowledge of 2 wheeler(s) but from looks of it, I feel, what Honda Navi is to Honda bikes, Honda Cliq is to Honda scooters. I saw a Navi just 2-3 days back in Orange color and to me it looked like a moped with fenders. I don't know but the look of this one doesn't appeal to me. I feel scooters like Activa etc look way more classy.

As @akash rightly said, it's a odd ball design, with the centuries old link front suspension, I'm more inquisitive about the knobby types, and the size.
Being a Honda you will find lots on the road.

The design look clueless, experimental. I am not sure how this design will help in rural area compared regular models as I see no difference mechanically, but see more plastic compared to other models. And that shitty front suspension setup.

For rural area the combination should be less plastic and more metal, bigger tyres and better suspensions. They should rather experiment with Street, that was very popular rural choice.

Was there a need for this? I hope Honda is not in overconfidence and making oddball moves.
This thing looks like a toy.

+1 for street. Had it 17 years. The gears were way tooo short otherwise a fantastic product.

Honda Navi is a moped only. By no means we can call it a bike(motorcycle). But this looks much better than Navi although not as classy as the Activa.

I thought it was a kid's motor bike [:)] . It might turn out to be a dead stock for the dealers. By the way who is the target segment?

Honda Navi, Cliq to be discontinued – Just 1 unit sold in 7 months

honda-cliq-scooter-discontinue.jpg

Sales of Honda Navi and Cliq declined to an all time low in the year 2019. In 12 months, Navi sales stood at 127 units while Cliq managed to register sales of 1,828 units.

While there may be multiple reasons why a vehicle is discontinued, right on top are being irrelevant and simply not raking in numbers. If sales is particularly low, it doesn’t justify the numbers. While slow moving vehicles are sometimes dragged along in the hope of a midlife update but that’s always situational. Currently, that situation is BSVI norms. With the upgrade in emission norms being mandated from April 1, 2020, manufacturers are compelled to make necessary decisions regarding future product lines.

These 2 products Navi & Cliq, are the biggest flops of the decade for Honda Scooter.
Well done aam junta for rejecting this 2 contraptions.
My neighbour bought Navi when launched, and sold it with great difficulty in a couple of months, at a massive discount.
