Yamaha recently launched the Scorpio Z-225 in Indonesia, which is the highest displacement street bike by the company there. The 2 valve SOHC, air-cooled 225cc motor produces 18.2PS of power and 17.5Nm of torque (quite similar to the Karizma). The bike sports a 13 liter fuel tank, 80/100-18 (front), 100/90-18 (rear) tyres and weighs 141 kgs. Although Yamaha has not released any information on the launch of this bike, we are speculating the same engine featuring in the FZ/Fazer. This will help Yamaha enter the premium motorcycle segment in India at an aggressive price.

250 cc Scorpio = 18.5 BHP
R15 = 17 BHP

Pulsar 220 = 21 BHP

P220 = 85 K
R15 = 110 K
Scorpio = 1 lakh +

No logic in the bike if launched.

I used to have the previous version of the bike. They have just changed to styling which has added 10kg. This really is a great bike. It has a 225cc engine and its powerful and has a lot of torque. The old version only weighed 131kg wet. It has super sticky tires and you can get your knee on the ground.

I haven't tried the new one but here is a review of my one. The previous model was based on the XJR1300. You could say its a classic naked sport bike.

I can do 300km on one tank which is 12 liters. Max speed I have done is 140kph. It handles very well, so well that I have scrapped my shoe tip and pegs along the ground while turning. The tires are very good it never feels like they are about to give away, even when I have taken those really sharp turns lying the bike on its side. This bike will kick the P220 up the butt in performance. The Scorpio has almost the same power (19hp) and torque 18.24nm as the P220, but its full weight with a full tank of gas and everything is only 131kg. While P220 is 150 kg weight.
Max speed is around 140kph. With the New Scorpio as I have said its just looks they have changed. Which has added more weight so performance may be a little worse. I wish they gave the engine more power. Oh and on the new Scorpio the speedo is analogue.
