DSK Motowheels has played it very aggressive with the Benelli brand in India. Now, seems like the company is planning more than just superbikes for the Indian market.

Spotted testing here is the Benelli Cafenero 150 scooter which could hit the Indian showrooms later this year. Road testing makes us assume that the bike might be currently under testing & evaluation stage to meet the Indian customer requirement.

With Aprilia planning the SR150, Benelli wanting to challenge the same position is understandable.

Powering the Cafenero is a 150cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol motor producing 13 BHP of power and 13.30 Nm of torque matched to a CVT automatic gearbox. What’s interesting is that the scooter is built around a triangular trellis frame.

Features:

- Bold styling

- Large windscreen

- 35mm front fork

- 5-way adjustable rear suspension

- Front & rear disc brake

- Large exhaust end can

How much would you pay for the Cafenero if it is launched in India?

Any idea on when these 2 model will get launched.

- Aprilia SR150
- Benelli Cafenero

Much awaiting for such power scooters. Although 150CC Vespa is still available in market.

Aprilia SR150 is expected around the festive season, the only bummer is it would be using the same engine that of Vespa.

Looking at Benelli's strategy in India, year end / early next year would be the ideal plan for the scooter. Would it come with ABS?? That would be a killer [evil]

Benelli to launch KSR Moto Zion 150 scooter

While Hero MotoCorp & Honda showcased concepts a couple of years ago with no signs of execution anytime soon, seems like newer brands are looking closely at the maxi scooter segment.

Spotted testing previously, this is the scooter which Benelli plans to introduce in India. While it was previously rumoured to be the ‘Cafenero’ scooter, it is actually the KSR Moto Zion 150.

KSR Moto is an Austrian motorcycle brand will be brought to India by DSK under the Benelli nameplate.

Powering the Zion 150 is a 151cc, sngle-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke petrol motor producing 11.7 BHP of power @ 7,500 RPM matched to a CVT automatic gearbox.

The scooter measures 2,075mm in length and has a wheelbase of 1,415mm. It is 1,350mm tall and weighs 146 kg.

With Piaggio announcing the introduction of Aprilia SR150 scooter for India, seems like all top manufacturers are now convinced about the potential the scooter segment has in India.

The Zion 150 however is quite quirky to look at. The front looks like an alien with a protruding apron, twin headlamps, air duct in between and a windscreen on top.
Features include contoured seats, telescopic front fork, disc brake, alloy wheels, etc.
