Honda has struggled in the sub 1 lakh rupee premium motorcycle segment for a long time. Apart from the success of the Unicorn brand, no other 150cc motorcycle actually took off well from the Japanese manufacturers stable.

Now, Honda has applied a patent for a new motorcycle dubbed as ‘CBX’.
Considering Honda will share the engine & chassis with existing products, this new CBX motorcycle could be powered by a 150cc or 160cc motor seen on the CB Trigger or CB Unicorn 160 respectively.

Patent image reveals:

-> Commuter riding position, upright
-> Front disc brake
-> Front telescopic fork
-> Round headlamp
-> No windscreen for instrument cluster
-> Sculpted tank
-> Floating tank cowl
-> Long contoured seat
-> Pillion grab rail on either side of pillion seat
-> Rear suspension is not monoshock
-> Rear drum brake
-> Full size exhaust, with heat shield
-> Old-school fuel filler cap

All these features clearly indicate that this will be a low-cost 150cc / 160cc motorcycle, which can give a tough fight to the likes of Discover 150.
