World’s second oldest motorcycle maker (first being Benelli), Ducati achieved a significant milestone as it produced its one millionth motorcycle at the Borgo Panigale plant in Italy. The millionth Ducati to roll out of the production line was the iconic street-fighter ‘Monster 1200 S’ that was handed over to the very lucky Ernesto Passoni, a Ducatista, directly by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding with Prof. Rupert Stadler (Audi Group CEO) and Luca de Meo (Member of the Board for Marketing and Sales, Audi AG) also gracing the event.
Always been a Ducati loyalist, Mr. Passoni was informed by his dealer that he was the recipient of the 1 millionth Ducati to be produced. His loyalty was also rewarded with a special value addition in the form of a special customisation that saw a laser serigraph on the top of the handlebar bracket showing the chronological number reached by production at the legendary Borgo Panigale facility. Established in 1946, it took the facility seven decades to produce the 1 millionth motorcycle.
