Now although the name may sound new to many people, Benelli motorcycles have been in existence from as early as 1911. Yes, that’s over a century of experience in motorcycling. This Italian brand will join hands with DSK Motowheels, the two-wheeler arm of the DSK Group, to launch the Benelli marque in India.
Benelli says now is right time to enter India as it has right products for the market and it has found the right partner. DSK-Benelli is similar to DSK-Hyosung but does not share showrooms and will have separate operation teams. However, both banners are managed by same small group of executives. Considered as the biggest two wheeler merger of 2014, DSK-Benelli will launch its entire lineup of motorcycles that includes bikes of engine displacements ranging between 300 cc and 1,131 cc.

The arrangement is technical between DSK and Benelli, assembly will happen at DSK plant in Satara, Where they also assemble Hyosung bikes. Benelli motorcycles will be brought in as CKD for now, based on numbers they sell, localisation will start in gradual manner. Benelli will first launch 5 bikes in two months starting December 2014, one 300 cc, two types of 600 cc, one 899 cc and 1130 cc motorcycle, while rest of bikes will be launched at later stage. These include the Tornado Naked Tre, TNT 302, TNT 600i, TNT 899 and the TNR 1130 R.

Benelli BN302 rivals KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Kawasaki Z250 and Suzuki Inazuma. By January 2015, #DSKBenelli plans to open 12 showrooms, and by December, 24.

DSK-Benelli also plans to launch 125 cc and 150 cc bikes in future. Benelli says they plan stay together with DSK longer than Honda stayed with Hero.

Awesome bikes.
Only issue will be service and spares as these are coming as CKDs.
It would be with the spares as untill the company sees the future of their products potential onwards we can see the investments and further process of units for indian market.

DSK-Benelli 8-bike onslaught revealed.

Eight new bikes from DSK-Benelli are headed to showrooms in the near future. Two more Benelli motorcycles are slated for launch in India this year. This includes a sport-touring motorcycle built around the engine from the TNT 1130R. The Amazonas, as it is called, uses a re-configured version of the 1131cc three-cylinder engine that offers better responsiveness at low and mid range to make it more relaxing them.
The 11.4kgm of torque is just slightly lower than on the TNT, however, it is developed at 5000rpm, which is much lower than the TNT. Unsurprisingly, horsepower has dropped to 123.3bhp but is ample enough to keep the rider excited. The Amazonas also features engine modes for a more relaxed cruise on the highway. A bespoke trellis frame is built around the engine. The 50mm Marzocchi forks are softer and offer longer travel too. It has a larger 21.5-litre fuel tank and a healthy 170mm of ground clearance. Should you run out of clearance, there’s a steel bash plate to protect the engine too. The Amazonas rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear rims wrapped with on-off road rubber to tackle more demanding terrain. But, the Amazonas is positioned as a tarmac-friendly sport-touring motorcycle that can take some amount of rough-roading.
Expect the Amazonas to build on Benelli’s premium end in India, the other motorcycle for India, the TNT 25, will beef up the more accessible end. Except for the headlamp and the instrument cluster, the TNT 25 is completely different from the TNT 300. This motorcycle is a grounds-up design built around a 249cc single-cylinder engine. The TNT 25 has a bespoke trellis frame that eschews the side-mounted monoshock of the TNT 300 for a more conventional layout. The TNT 25 will be about 25kg lighter than the TNT 300 and the design too is sharper, to highlight its sportier attitude. However, you can expect good everyday usability from this 254bhp motorcycle as Benelli considers this a crucial part of its DNA.

Benelli India not ruling out possibility of entering the scooter market

Benelli-Zafferano-250-Red-right-side.jpg

While the company plans to concentrate on the 250 cc to 500 cc segment in the short term, the management has not denied the idea of introducing a scooter in the future. Speaking on the sidelines of the TRK 502 and TRK 502X launch, Vikas Jhabakh, Managing Director of Benelli India said that the company needs a scooter in its portfolio. He did not reveal timelines, and we do not expect to see a scooter arrive in the country this year.
