Honda Unicorn Front Disc Brake Issue

Hi All,
I have Honda Unicorn which has run 22000 kms. The issue is with the front disc brake. Till now I have changed the disc pad 6 times . It keeps wearing out very fast., and there is screeching sound from the disc brake. The service centre guy told me to replace the entire disc brake assembly which cost 2500.

All I want to know is is it necessary to replace the entire assembly or only the disc pad.
Why does the disc pad wears out so soon? Is it the reason that I some times brake hard. Any Unicorn owners please let me know. Thanks

Is it the problem was there from day 1?Why you didnt try to replace it within in the guarantee period itself?Check with any good mechanic outside.they'll disassemble & reset the brake system.Screeching noise means brake biting and is it there while running without apply brakes?Try to rotate tire while keeping the bike in center stand. if brake bite is still there, then it really effect the engine performance & mileage too. So try to fix it ASAP.
