KTM CEO Stefan Pierer has plans to boost volumes through a ‘smaller-than-200’ bike.

Stefan Pierer has said that the new bike might fall in the 180-190cc category. The KTM 180 Duke, if it ever becomes a reality, would be less equipped than the 200 and would help KTM India sell 100,000 motorcycles annually over the next 3-4 years.

KTM’s new India spec products will be developed in collaboration with Bajaj and the Austrian bike maker would stress on heavy localization to keep the costs under check.

The KTM 180cc bike will debut some time in 2014-2015

Not necessarily.
It will always command a premium over the Pulsar 180.
Like the KTM 200 hasnt really affected the Pulsar 200.
