Coimbatore To Mangalore via Palakad / Maahi

Hi Guys,
Is there anyone travelled to Mangalore from Coimbatore or vice versa in last 30 days.
Coimbatore - Pallakad - Kozhikode - Maahi - Mangalore.
Kindly update the road conditions.

Hi all,
I travelled last Thursday (15th May 2014) in the above mentioed route and found to be fine. Road Conditions were very good.
But throughout the journey, its single road. It took 10:45 minutes to reach Coimbatore. Total 457 kilometers. Night time is the best to travel in this route. traffic will be less.
At any case dont choose this route in the day time, it will be very traffic.

We are planning to drive Coimbatore to Calicut next week. How are the road conditions now? I understand there are 2 routes from Palakkad to Kozhikode (one via mannarkad & alternate route). Which is better among the 2?

Please also suggest if any road construction is underway in any of the stretches and detours.
