Hyderabad To Jog Falls - Route Query

Hi Guys,
I am planning to visit Jog falls around 15 august weekend, would appreciate help on route planning and state of roads in Karnataka. Best route which some colleagues have told me is Hyderabad - Mahbubnagar-Hospet-Hubli-Jog.

What are good green places to visit around ? Accommodation - Should we stay in Shimoga or Jog has good hotels ?

I think the route you have mentioned is the best one. You will enjoy the drive from Hubli to Jog fall with lots of forests and greenery around. Opp. to the falls KSTDC runs a hotel and for more details there is the link----
