Hello everyone...I am relatively new to the fascinating world of automobiles..I watched a lot of videos on clutch and gearbox working recently , but found no answer to why the clutch pedal should be released slowly after changing gears or why the engine turns off if the clutch is not released properly.. help me out plz..

Thank you[:)]

Clutch forms the connection between 2 shafts rotating at different speeds(one from engine side & other from wheel side). Now you need to release it slowly so that they synchronize and start rotating at the same speed.
This is especially important while trying to move the vehicle initially, since the wheels are stationary(you obviously require more force to move a thing than whats required to keep a moving object moving). SO if you release the clutch suddenly, the vehicle would just stop, since it would not be able to produce the torque to make the wheels start rotating...

Sorry, if i confused you more[;)]
