@icecool:

2: Airtel is having 7.1 Dolby surround
What is SD.

All packages are here:Airtel digital TV Packages

Suggest best of these.
And is tata sky is providing Nat Geo HD??
I want Discovery Turbo.
Is this all included.
Kindly suggest me a plan.

Mine is Samsung LED 46'.

Sd = Standard Definition

Remember there only-2-3 HD channels in India. Most of the other channels are broadcast in standard definition.
Some SD channels can appear heavily pixellated in large screen tv sets especially the new LCD panels.
You should lookout for the clarity of these channels before finalizing an DTH.
What I did was instead of visiting demo centers of DTH providers (where they had only small screen tvs to display) I visited TV showrooms like Sony World. This way you can personally see the clarity of big screen lcd panels before finalizing.

Tata Sky is providing two HD channels at present
Discovery
Nat Geo
You would also get to see a few sports events in HD on Tata Sky.

Discovery Turbo is available on Tata Sky

Airtel's claim of providing 7.1 audio is a joke in the industry. There is hardly any programming available in the world providing 7.1 audio and Airtel can be sued for misleading advertisements, but, alas, we don't have the necessary rules in place in the media industry.

I found every DTH provider's package so confusing that i went with their full package. Now that I know what channels i like to watch - will finalize a package based on my needs.

Hope this helps!

@ Mukesh I don have any issues like heavy pixellated channels in my LED tv like what Icecool has mentioned. In fact all channels are just perfect.

Just wanted to say Airtel is also really good , but you can go ahead with TATA Sky too.

Guys a big no to Airtel HD.
I just checked myself at an outlet.
Only Nat Geo HD was being displayed at the outlet.
I asked him to switch over to regional channels, which is worst compared to the Cable connection which i am having currently.
As i am thinking whether to go for Set Top box from my cable operator.
Or is it mandatory to go with HD DTH connection?
I am really confused now.
And i heard lots of complaint about Tata sky, that heavy rains disrupts the connection.

Hmmm , i would still say Airtel is good enough! I also have a cable connection at my home and i can easily spot the difference between cable and HD DTH! Set top box is another cheaper option but still clarity is nothing close to DTH.

Heavy rains , even Airtel gets disrupted sometimes. I would still suggest only a DTH connection.

Tata Sky is good. But the subscription charges are on higher side compared to others. If you are not bothered paying 50-100 extra (depending the package) per month go for Tata Sky.

I was using Tata Sky nearly year back paying 345/- per months without sports package.

Airtel is cheaper than Tata Sky IMO.

Guys finally after visiting several Demo centres.
I decided to go away with Set top box of local cable operator.
As i didn't find any difference between these two, while viewing regional channels.
Only thing i miss is HD channels.
Which as of now only NAT Geo is being provided for free with channels in Airtel & Tata sky.

Set Top box costs 1500/-
225 per Month.
With 217 channels.
New channels will get added automatically.

Why vibhor?
What's the reason.
I ordered for a new piece, it would be coming by a week.
The reason is that it provides only limited channels (i.e. the ones you individually purchase). Thus, this proves to be much heavier on pocket by paying monthly charges than buying a dish itself.
