Volkswagen Vento 1.2 TSi - The New Hot Sedan

Just a few minutes ago, Volkswagen India has announced the launch of Vento TSi in India. Powered by a 1.2 liter petrol turbocharged engine, it’s equipped with a seven speed DSG transmission and is capable to produce 105 PS Power and 175 NM Torque to delight the enthusiasts. The ARAI claimed fuel efficiency figure is 16.93 Kmpl.

New Volkswagen Vento TSi is available for Rs.9.99 Lakh (Ex. showroom, Delhi).

The new Vento TSI gets a powerful, responsive and fuel-efficient 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 105 PSof power and an impressive 175 Nm of torque. The Vento TSI also gets a high-tech 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox for outstanding acceleration and ease of driving, without compromising on fuel economy.

Volkswagen’s critically acclaimed forced-induction TSI engines are compact, powerful, and use less fuel when compared to bigger, normally-aspirated engines. TSI engines also deliver higher torque output at relatively lower engine speeds, which makes these engines responsive as well as fuel-efficient in a wide range of operating conditions.

Meticulously engineered to provide unmatched performance, combined with excellent fuel economy (ARAI-certified 16.93 kmpl), the new Volkswagen Vento TSI is priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh, ex showroom, New Delhi.

Along with class-leading performance and fuel economy, the new Volkswagen Vento TSI is also equipped with a host of safety features like anti-lock brakes (ABS), an electronic stabilization program (ESP), hill-hold function, dual frontal airbags, 3-point seatbelts at the front and an electronic engine immobilizer with floating code.

It’s advanced forced-induction TSI engine, dual-clutch automatic transmission and suite of safety features position the new Vento TSI a clear notch above the competition. Sales of the New Volkswagen Vento TSI will commence from October 10, 2013. The car will initially be available in selected cities across India.

This is a good one. Think it should give good competition to City, Verna, Rapid and Linea T-Jet.

I feel this would make one of the best automatic sedan in this price range. And the timing of the launch couldn't have been better as Honda has stopped the production of Automatic variants of the City till the time new generation of the car is launched in India. Polo GT TSI is having close to 3 months waiting period in most of the metro's and bigger cities. May also be due to limited production, but the response has surely been greater than expected by VW. We'll have to wait and see the market response to the Vento TSI now.

Pricing not quite right for some cities eg. Bangalore where RTO tax will be 3% extra for 10lac+ ex-showroom. But overall, a great package.

Note that they have excluded Red colour to differentiate with Polo GT TSI.

Inquired at Elite Motors - waiting time is already 6 months as they have a couple of dozen bookings already. Booking amount : 75k.

Hi friends,
I just came back from a test drive of Vento TSI,the engine light and many other lights were on during the test drive.They answered they haven't connected the cables,is that possible?
I felt the steering too light,I have test driven a diesel Vento before but its steering was better.When I asked they told its because of not setting up the vehicle?Am I missing something,because with such a super light steering I felt scared while driving.

With 12.6 lakh On-road Bangalore, the Vento 1.2 TSI is not moving well. It is ready for immediate delivery here. Unlike Polo 1.2 TSI, which still has a waiting of 3 months.
