The transport ministry has further extended the validity of fitness certificates, driving license and other vehicle documents till December 31, in view of the Covid-19 outbreak.
This is the second instance when the validity of such documents related to Motor Vehicles Act,1988 and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, that may have expired after February 1 has been extended.
The ministry had previously extended the validity of these documents till June 30, and subsequently till September 30.
The decision has been taken considering the “grim situation still continuing due to conditions for prevention of spread of COVID-19 across the country.”
