It is really sad to hear the news.

Regular breaks during long drives on sunny days, should avoid such situations. May his soul rest in peace.

I had never heard of him before this thread came up. Which forced me to google for yetiblog and I went through a few short stories/travelogue by him.
We lost a fantastic writer and a very good human being in an untoward accident.

Kindly don't over-speed on bald/old tires. Keep your tires in good shape and check them prior departure and en-route on long trips.

Guys the simplest way of preventing blowouts is:
  • Run your tyres at just perfect pressure.Under-inflated tyres are always more prone to punctures.
  • It's better if you don't drive at insanely fast speeds.

Rest looking at the opening post,I think we can have a complete new thread on the tyre related issues.A thread with a title,something like "All tyre related problems and their solutions".
