In its current BS4 format, the TVS XL100 is good for just above 4bhp and 6.5Nm of torque with its 99.7cc single-cylinder engine. The simple power plant is mated to a single-speed transmission that allows the moped to carry almost double its weight with relative ease (and at low speeds). The new TVS XL100 BS6 might get a basic fuel-injection unit and a reworked exhaust system to cut down emissions, and hence, a higher price tag.
The TVS XL100 Heavy Duty i-Touchstart (HDiTS) comes at a price of Rs 43,044 while the higher HDiTS Special Edition retails at Rs 43,804 in their BS6 avatars. Both prices are ex-showroom (Delhi) and higher by roughly Rs 3,500 over the outgoing BS4 models.
