TVS Motor Company has announced its foray into the 125cc scooter segment with the launch of the TVS Ntorq 125. Designed for the youth, the TVS Ntorq 125 has been developed based on the TVS’ racing pedigree and comes with a CVTi-REVV 3 valve engine. The scooter also marks the launch of an exclusive technology platform – TVS SmartXonnect – making it India’s first connected scooter.

Re: TVS Ntorq 125cc Scooter Launched at Rs 58,750 in India, Gets Bluetooth Connectivi

Quite an interesting launch by TVS. This can definitely target the youth, with its bigger engine, great looks, light weight and the new console. With Bluetooth connectivity which shows caller ids and maps, it is quite convenient. Even the new Duke 390 missed out on the maps, even though it has a colour TFT screen. The boot is quite big, and this is surely going to give the Grazia a run for its money. The alloys, the external fuel filler cap, the huge boot, all together is quite a great package.

Love the tech features. Note that the actual map is not displayed on the screen but turn by turn navigation (left /right ) is displayed.[glasses] Map My India and limited Drive Mate SDK is used.

This is a really interesting launch. The digital speedo is a very nice to have feature. Looks beautiful and nice design, boot space. A must try for one going for a scooter.

Has anyone taken delivery/test driven the Ntorq?

The dealer here has received, but no TD vehicle available, only display.
Yesterday went and saw this pocket rocket, did a brief TD in the premises.

1. Sounds like a 150cc bullet, lovely throaty sound.
2. LED Taillight and surround vents look menacing.
3. Boot space good for fullface helmet, bootlight, USB port, and mobile Holder.
4. Has bar ends on handle.
5. Digital counsel, with temp gauge.
6. Only Matt color.

I thought they will launch first scooter with ABS in INDIA so little bit disappointed
Although specification feels promising on paper.
ABS
As per new norm's coming into effect in 2020.

All 2 wheelers >125cc launched now Abs to be made mandatory from April 2019, and those launched after April 2018 to have ABS as standard.

Not sure if Combi brake will be accepted in lieu.

Combi breaks will be accepted only in 2 wheeler <=125 cc. Above 125 cc, all 2 wheeler should have ABS. However, I am not sure if this is going to be a good option as most manufactures will install only 1 channel ABS (equivalent to Bosh ABS-Light) which acts only on front wheel.

Okay, even if it's single channel ABS, good enough, as we can have lesser skid and topple incidents.

Manufacturers will always cut corners to equip with 'lightest' possible safety equipment, whether its light ABS or small size AIRBAGS.
