Re: Toyota Innova Crysta A.T Drive Review.
External Design of new Toyota Innova Crysta.
The all new Innova Crysta was as I mentioned show in the auto expo 2016. This Innova Crysta looks way more smart than it's earlier avatars to me personally. Over the years Innova went in for a lot of changes to it's exteriors. But as a teenager in it's first look, the Innova looked quite simple and easy on the eyes. Now, in the present generation of Innova Crysta, Toyota has attempted to re-affirm the faith of people in their design language. Now before I write about the exterior design of Innova Crysta, just let me remind you all of some previous generations of Innova which we have seen in India.
Earlier Generations Toyota Innova
Now with reference to the above earlier generation Innovas, In comparison, with the current tastes and expectations, Toyota made a humble attempt to provide us with the Innova Crysta. The new Crysta has a bold looking persona and a unmistakable road presence. This characteristic is still maintained from earlier generations. Talking of the front profile of Innova Crysta, The front has a big and bold twin slat chrome accented radiator grill and the lower half of the front profile has blacked out air dam too. The neatly done front radiator grill with Black air dam gives the Innova Crysta a refreshing and bold look. Toyota this time has made sure to control the use Chrome which is indeed a welcome move. Moving ahead, the Crysta comes with big swept back projector headlamps. The front headlamps have been given an entirely new design from earlier generations and they too complement the front muscular persona of Crysta. Another thing worth noticing is that the turn markers are located in the lower part of the bumper along with the fog lamps. This is actually something unique in today's time. The neatly creased out hood provides it a aggressive stance and complements the entire profile very well. In the front you will not find any untoward and half hearted curves and bulge. In my view, it is a beautifully done design.
Moving to the side profile of Innova Crysta: The side looks of Crysta, speaks volumes about the neatness. The simple and well laid out profile give the sober appearance to it. There are no sharp lines extending from rear quarters to the doors or fenders. It is simple and elegant. From all the other generation Innova, this one looks sharp from side. The redesigned rear quarter glass complements the side profile and gives much better view to the 3rd row passengers. A contemporary but simple looking MPV from the side.
The Rear Profile of Innova Crysta: This one has the best looking rear profile in my view. The 1st one and subsequent ones looked really boring from rear. The rear profile of Crysta boasts of re-designed bumper, boot door and inverted tail lamps. The side markers in the rear lights face downwards which I believe is taken from the future design language of other Toyota SUVs. The tail lamps extend upto the boot door as the reversing lights are housed in the extensions. Unlike many other MPVs from rivals and even other generations of Innova, the Crysta does not have a chrome mustache as standard. This makes the rear profile pleasing to the eyes and gives it a subtle look. The boot door design too is well crafted but one thing is there, the boot door is not light in weight. So, overall, for the exteriors, The Innova Crysta is justifiably beautiful. And of all the 6 colors, the Innova Crysta looks most beautiful in Garnet Red shade.
