great to know that toyota is launching Etios sooner than expected!..hope they go right with looks and etios hatch i believe it will be here to answer micra with premium price tag... are both sedan and hatch launching together??

Yes, The launch is now confirmed. Toyota Etios is going to hit Indian shores by 1st December, 2010.

I was assuming it to be Hatch first, but motoroids tells that it is going to be Sedan.

yup. best will be if toyota launches both together. or its possibely they will watch response for one of them first and tune next one accordingly!.

Sedan will make first entry in India followed by Hatch in another few months!

Etios Sedan will directly compete with City, Verna & Vento.

Pricing should be an advantage for Toyota & hope it gets the game this time after Qualis!!

Like previously mentioned, the car is launching on 1st December 2010, Initially only Petrol variants will be introduced, followed by Diesel thereafter.

Toyota Kirloskar has now officially confirmed that the Etios sedan will debut before the hatchback, and deliveries will commence from January 2011 onwards, following that the hatchback will be dispatched to dealers. Toyota plans to sell 70,000 units of Etios twins in 2011, and initially at least for a year, the car will be offered only in Petrol version.

Why only petrol when all the makers are bringing diesel in here??!! Are they missing out something?


We can see Beat , Micra all bringing bringing diesels due to demands , if we see sales also Figo , Swift and Dzire diesels are doing good!

i hope the production version gets better flares and looks then the concept one toyota revealled at auto expo.Diesel should be launched first and then petrol, which would cater the demand in market for diesel vehicles, hatchback and sedan as well.What pricing is expected for these new vehicles any idea?

from spyshots it looks that both etios will look similar to concepts except for alloys !!

Etios hatch is somewhat ok but sedan looks ugly IMHO .
