The problem currently TATA faces is economies of scale. Sharing of technology and cost will speed up the development of new products and make it a economical to development in these days of cut throat competition.
TATA, instead of Chinese, should look at companies in Europe as they have better R&D, maybe like FIAT, Peugeot,Citroen using ALFA ARC platform make vehicles for Africa or latin America markets and get platforms and technology as they are already in 50-50 JV in India.

Tata iRA Connected Tech To Be Introduced In Other Models Soon

Tata Motors today revealed the turbo petrol variant of the Altroz premium hatchback and it's the most powerful premium hatchback, the company has introduced till date. It's also the first hatchback from the company to come with the connected car technology which Tata Motors has christened 'iRA'. The connected car platform is now part of the Altroz line-
up and will soon be introduced in other cars too.

The iRA connected car technology was first introduced in the Nexon EV in 2019 and after that it made its way on the Nexon powered by the petrol and diesel engines. Now with the introduction of the technology in the Altroz, the company is gearing up to make it a part of the Harrier SUV too. Answering a question on whether the connected car tech will be seen on the Harrier, Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Passenger Cars, Tata Motors said, "The roll out of iRa tech has been a gradual one. We had it on the Nexon, now we have it in the Altroz and yes, we'll soon have it in other cars in our line-up."

In fact, we won't be surprised if the upcoming Tata Safari will come with this connected tech either. The iRA connected car technology has been developed in India, for India and comes with 27 features including, remote lock/unlock, geo-fencing, live vehicle diagnosis among others.

It's unlikely that we'll get to see this technology in the Tiago and Tigor yet, because that will certainly hike the prices of the variants. We wait to see though, the company's strategy for the connected car tech for its other models.

Skoda has entered the hot >4m MID SIZE SUV segment with the KUSHAQ on localised MBQ A0 IN platform with only contestants being CRETA and SELTOS and unwilling contestants like DUSTER and NISSAN KICKS. Wonder when will TATA enter this segment with SIERRA.

Am eager to watch TATA hit this space. Even Mahindra is missing this space.

If you look at HBX, its literally the same size as Nexon. And is likely to be priced somewhere around Nexon, with lower variants well below though. Also pricing of the Nexon now is at 15 lakhs on road for the top variant. Next gen Nexon, could very well be bigger than what it is now. Competing directly in the segment of the Creta.

PS: just a guestimation.

HBX is much lighter and smaller. Nexon is 3995mm length and HBX will be around 3.8m. it will also sport a non turbo engine and power to weight will be similar to Magnite or Ignis.

CRETA competing car will be the SIERRA on the ALFA platform.

The size of the Sierra concept itself was more or less of the Nexon. I doubt, if ever they'll launch the Sierra, it will be in volumes market. The brand desirability is too great for TATA to waste it on a product that would generate less margins.

PS: Again, guesstimation

The difference is that it will be 4.2-4.3 m length. So definitely it will be larger and compete in the CRETA-SELTOS catagory. Nexon competes in Sub-4 meter segment with Vitara Breeza, Venue, et al.
