How come that service centre guys did such a shoddy task bro ?
God knows. I am wondering why this all happening to me. Beat, Fiesta, FZ, Duke, GT, all screwed up by either ASC or some mechanic. One thing I understood was most of them knows only to repair Marutis and Hero/Hondas. I remember one of the Maruti mechanics shoo'd me off when I took Fiesta for general service. So far, the new Beat mechanic is an enthusiastic knowledgeable chap, dunno when he turns rogue. He was doing 1 lakh km overhaul of Fiesta diesel when I was there, and he said only belts and pulley needs replacement and no need for engine overhaul. So, I think I found the mechanic for Fiesta as well.

Post 2008 cars , are full of sensors and mechatronics , which most of the garages in trivandrum don't know (My dad's comments ) .
I think I have quoted before , we hadn't given our old wagon R to authorised service centre at all , it was serviced by Mr.Jeevan (Sasthamangalam) , but now for Swift , dad doesn't wanna take chance , as swift has more complex electtronics .

Ya , Ottomotif . I had indeed forgot the centre name ? Any experiences there .
Ya it had sensors , but was quite less compared to complex ones these days . [;)]
I remember changing Power Steering sensor (that was the expensive spare we had to replace)

Yeah, he was recommended to me by many Baleno owners, but ended up at Srihari due to some misunderstanding. When I finally spotted the place, he shut the shop and left. Now new shop open near Gowreesha Hospital. The above said new guy was working at Ottomotif for 9 years since his apprenticeship and Jeevan was his mentor. That reflects in his attitude and quality of work.

Whats this new guy's name ?
And You had meant Jeevan uncle's shop relocated to near gowreesha hospital ?
I really would recommend Jeevan Uncle (Especially for petrols , coz those days I have seen even Honda City dolphin model there ) .
My experiences -

1. Rare vehicles - There was a Maruti 800 , which had throttle like that of bikes (The driver had got handicapped after an accident , but his passion for driving kept him driving ) - When I think now the mechanism is easy to create , but as a child , I was fascinated by that .
2. Only once we had a repeat complaint of indicator bulb failing (I don't remember what had gone wrong , but after 3rd attempt it sorted out )
3.Bills charged were correct prices for spare (as well as labour charges were very moderate).
4. He had recommended swift VVT (When I was about to tule out to DDIS , he had told DDIS is quite expensive in maintanence , and you don't have that much running also ) - He had mentioned specifically the term "VVT"- how many mechanics say that , he explained even the phenomenon of how VVT engine works so well .

New guy's name is Unni aka Dilip, a young guy. He is at Kanjirampara. I fell for this guy when he asked me when was the last time PCV filter changed, knows the right replacement intervals. Always open for our opinion. Same here, old Matiz and carb 800s to Mahindra Max Pickups. He said he used to work on them at Ottomotif as well.

Mr. Jeevan's garage is the one relocated to Gowreeshapattom.

I have seen him . Great , nice that he's doing right jobs just like his mentor . These ones don't remember our faces , but knows our rides so well .
He might remember my wagon R , midnight black , KL01 AA 2212 .(coz jeevan uncle's old shop was in a steep incline , so post service , dad won't take risk ,as being a narrow passage as well as one needs to take a full reverse in incline , most of the time Mr.Unni / Mr.Jeevan used to reverse up . (For me I love such challenging tasks[cheers] ) .

Its a slight risk that you took spraying anti rust instead of Throttle body cleaner
As long as you are not soaking the tb in petrol or any other cleaner it won’t create much issues.
If you try soaking it the petrol or any other cleaner it will be forced to enter the bearings of butterfly valve and wash out the grease inside those bearings.

What i do personally is spray on the rag and try to clean as much as possible but then you will end up with small cuts here and there

March 2020: In search of the cause.

Faulty air filter should be 90% the cause of a dirty throttle body. 10% can be leak in box or plumbing.

The thing every Fiesta owner/mechanic hate, unscrewing the air filter bolts. Removing the box is another headache.

Tadaa [evil] Removed all of them in a minute (or maybe 2 [lol])

View attachment 274932

The cause, wrong filter [frustration] I expected rat attack.

View attachment 274934

There was gap in both sides of the filter.

View attachment 274935

The filter was pretty clean for 10k km of use, meaning air flow was minimal through the filter.

View attachment 274936

If belongs to Opel Corsa and costed more than twice the Ford OEM filter. Done by Travancore Motors. See the folds in the filter as well. It didn't fit inside the box, they squeezed it in.

Next was overtightening the bolts, causing them to sink too much.

View attachment 274940

and puncturing through the cover.

View attachment 274939

Added washers to prevent further damage.

View attachment 274941

All cleaned and installed back. Managed to install the filter without any gap, but still risky. Would get stock filter as soon as the Ford service center are up.

Least expected reason and here we are!

Invisible hands of some dickhead. Scratched almost the entire care except the roof and left doors and rear fender. Since it was vandalism, none of the painters taking the risk for the claim process. One guy agreed if we talk with the insurer. But then the lock down was declared. It was done inside the compound and none of the other cars/bikes were touched. We initially thought it was the job of the cat.

This is ridiculous. Hope you’ve already tried rubbing compound and scratch removers if the scratches aren’t too deep.
