Re: The Mighty Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Drives In - Remapped 210+ BHP [58K Kms Crossed

Not much to report on the PS, still rides the same, boringly reliable as ever, crossed 58k!
I wanted to order some spare LED - so that i could keep them when the ones i have conk off. Thankfully the Isuzu and Mitsu have same bulb types so can interchange as well.

This time ordered the fanless xhp70 Leds - probably the highest lumen LED available for the projectors. Initial impressions are very very good - will take night pics later

Getting pretty close to a milestone 60k - still on original tyres and on original brake pads! Need to plan for 60k service soon.
Picked up a Bosch 37-13 pressure washer and all attachments, so washing is now a breeze at the farm (my dog ate my previous washer!)

Some shots :-

Seriously your brake pads need a detailed analysis whether HM fitted something special in your truck [lol] . By the time I had reached your milestone, the second set had also worn down.

Saw this brother from another mother!
was awe stuck - pristine condition, well maintained - Nissan patrol. What a beast!
Good catch. I have never seen this car.
Bumper spoiling the front look but anyways it may help in tough parking areas.

Re: The Mighty Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Drives In - Remapped 210+ BHP [61K Kms Crossed

The Mighty Mitsubishi crossed 60k last week, now closing to 62k.
I delayed the 60k service slightly, will do it later this week.

I did a 1200km splash and dash trip this weekend - as usual no trouble whatsoever, this was the first long trip after the remap, so could see some real world benefits in overtaking especially, the third gear stretch/pull is immense now.

The Vehicle is in its 5th year now - but still feels exactly as Day 1 - Epic durability and bulletproof reliability. Nothing I have owned ever has even come close to this yet. It has seen every possible terrain and reasonable off-road too on and off. If there is one thing i think it needs, it should be a rear diff lock - that would make it impregnable off-road. For an open diff vehicle with no fancy electronics - rear diff lock will make a huge difference especially when coupled with the central diff lock which anyways comes standard.

I have really nothing to write in a 60k report - its pure old school magic, barely any electronics and nothing goes wrong really, no drama ever - not even a whimper to complain about. Feels like a patton tank on road every time!

4+ years - zero complaints - 61k kms - period!

It is because he is 'chhota' Rajini, he opens his door, and stops the car using his foot.

By the time I had reached your milestone, the second set had also worn down.
I had brake pads replaced even on a Polo at 28k kms!! [confused]

60K Service Update

  • Engine Oil Flush
  • Engine Oil, Oil Filter and Fuel Filter replaced
  • Air Filter Cleaned (Swapped K&N back with the usual one)
  • AC filter cleaning and Blower motor cleaning - I need to replace the filter itself, will do after market
  • General Torquing
  • General Fluid Checkup
  • Under-body inspection
  • Door Rubber Sprayed with Wurth
  • Tyre Rotation - At nearly 62k i think i can do another 10k easy - though i dont like these tyres !
  • Checked/Cleaned Brake Pads - Astonishingly haven't had to replace even this time, they tell me can do another 5k easy, i have been hearing same last 2 times - but i aint complaining.
  • Vacuuming and Washing
  • Pending :- Propeller shaft greasing which ill do on my own.

For the first time switched from Motul Synthetic to Shell 5W-40 fully synthetic , initial placebo effect says its butter smooth and feels silent [:D]

Total Cost - Some 6.5k excluding the oil

Some pictures from the service :-

Some Mitsubishi porn first!

While i have been trying hard to ignore the placebo effect post service, a few things are very very obvious :-

With the shell oil, the engine feels more silent
Low end has improved a little
FE has gone up, infact see the attached image of a regular pune-mumbai side run i do(includes 12km or so downhill) - but still this is the best FE i have got for over a 150kms trip. Just a usual drive not exceeded 95kmph. Nothing special done, not bad at all!

Replaced the AC filter this weekend , it was long over due -
Purchased an activated Charcoal AC filter (Made in Italy as per box) from Varun(sparesncare) - got a very good price about 1.5k, the dealership one costs 5k [lol]

At the outset , the visual quality appears better than the dealership one, but lets reserve judgement after some usage and months. Here are the pics :-

^^ the above AC filter is extremely effective, will definitely recommend it, did over 2k kms in the last 2 weeks with the new filter and while cleaning noticed a lot of fine dust on the inlet side - so does the job well as intended.

Meanwhile 64k crossed and chugging as new!

Re: The Mighty Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Drives In - Remapped 210+ BHP [65K Kms Crossed

65k kms done and chugging along - last cycle got the best FE of 13.42 kmpl over a full tank.
Loving the Shell Helix Ultra experience so far!
Amazon keeps doing these discounts and flash deals and last week i bought additional 8 litres for less than 500rs per litre - STEAL!
