deville_56 Thank you for starting this thread [clap]
I have 1996 Kine DX ( i bought second hand from my friend) which is in under restoration from last 3 years ... due to unavailability of some parts and and lack of kine expert mechanics in mumbai.
after some difficulties i have decided to restore my first love by my own. your journey of your restoration is very inspiring for those who love kine. i hope it will help me for my dream project [thumbswink]

Here is some pics of my kine DX .. 3 years ago before 1st restoration .. i was not satisfied after paint job and machine work. I spend 9k for all crap restoration work. Now i am going to DIY job, currently working on clutch box and variator.
I am totally confused where to start actually frame is in very bad condition due to rust and i want to open whole engine it is working ok but i thing engine needs some restoration work, i asked for engine work to 7- 8 mechanics but no 1 is ready 2 stroke old lady [cry] ...
Please your suggestion & advise are welcome

Strip down and check the overall condition. If it is in worthy condition, build up [:)]

New battery. Amaron Pro Bike Rider Beta Series. 2+2 year warranty. Paid ₹ 1,200.00

Embossed number plates. ₹ 500.00

New tyre looks. It's actually smaller than stock, end result smaller perimeter and reduced speeds. Needs more throttle input. Gotta swap with front. Old ugly rusted number plate.

Train Chaser [evil]

February 2016:

Tubeless dream/disaster.

Aramis Tuffian SX 90/100-01. Paid ₹ 1,400.00. Couldn't find any other tubeless. MRF tube-type without tube was quoted the same. Regret the decision. Tyre is good, but all the efforts gone waste. Had to put tube. Tyre is so hard, damaged brand-new rim during installation. Bought 2 tubeless valves, a cheap rubber one and a costlier metal one. Could have bought MRF and saved at least ₹ 200.

Comes with no-questions asked 3-year warranty. Product of changemytyre.

MRF Zapper replica, but too sturdy, may be hard compound.

Tubeless

2016-02-16 18-15-38.JPG

The cheaper tubeless valve. ₹ 50.00. Bent-type hard to get. Rim hole was small and hard to get another metal one. Paid ₹ 180.00. Tyre was fouling with valve during install. Rim got severely damaged when pushing in tyre. Tyre wall is too much stiff. Had to throw away both valves and put tube. Luckily front tube was new and got it installed.

2016-02-16 18-12-01.JPG

Brand new rim, before screwing up. Primered and gloss black painted. ₹ 340.00 for rim.

2016-02-17 15-01-48.JPG

Tyre permanently installed on rim. No way removable without breaking the rim. Puncture gonna cost new rim+tyre+tube [frustration]

2016-04-22 07-52-37.JPG

Rim is rusting badly. It was hammered heavily back to shape.

2016-04-22 07-53-18.JPG

New plate. Stuck with 3M tape.

2016-04-22 07-53-32.JPG

Front was also installed with 3M tape first on custom aluminum frame, but not sturdy as ready due to smaller area. Bought Pulsar fairing screw and fixed.

that unconditional warranty still says 'conditions apply'. what irony!

I guess the problems cropped up due to Scooty tyre which is smaller than kiney. and please don't trust 3m tapes for number plate. put a single screw Atleast.

90/100-10 is stock size (similar to 3.50-100)

Tried and trusted tapes. @Vichu's amaze plates run on 3M tapes [lol]

Hey

Great job man. Really loved the arrangements and mods you did in accessories.

I have restored my Kinetic honda 86 model. Runs perfectly smooth. Recently the exhaust silencer is giving issues. Since I am putting up in Delhi. A good silencer is not available as most of the kinetics are off road here. Could you please suggest a workshop/ shop which can courier me genuine /OEM Kinetic silencer?

Great rim work :)

Hi deville_56,

One question, why the frame and tire seems not straight in the pics from the rear.
I have seen many Kinetic's like this. Is it like that or due to ageing..
