Where did you source the Meguiar's from ? And what is the process of applying these both ?
Got them from dealer locally. Was way cheaper than MRP.

Process:
1. Ultimate Compound: Apply with applicator or microfiber or polisher. Then buff, buff and buff [lol]. Repeat if necessary.
2. Ultimate Polish: Apply with applicator or polished. Polish in circular motion. Wipe off with microfiber.
3. Tech Wax 2.0. Apply and spread as thin film. Allow to dry. Polish off with microfiber.

Need a lot of microfiber, got some cheaper ones and a few 3M ones. Bike can be hand buffed/polish. Car needs lot of time, energy and patience. Got a polisher for car.

I was reading threads on the Continental GT on various forums and most owners are having a lot of issues and niggles like you. I don't know if they are unique to the CGT of general RE niggles. At least on paper the CGT looks like the best RE with Brembo front disks, Pirelli tyres and Paioli rear shocks. A couple of years ago when I went to the dealer to collect my refund for the Desert Storm booking and also book the Classic 350 for my BIL, the staff told me that there were quite a few CGT owners looking to sell their bikes.
A quick browse of OLX showed 3 CGT's (2014, 2015 & 2016) on sale in Goa for around 1.6-1.7 L. I'm tempted to try my luck at some extreme low balling.

On a serious note though, I'm looking beyond the Royal Enfield brand. The logical upgrade from a RE looks like a Triumph Bonnieville and that's what I'm looking out for.

This was the most functional DIY I ever did [evil]
Looks like a lot of people are also experimenting with this. I watched a video on Youtube (Ride with Raj) where he has done this mod using the Avenger risers and a Himalayan handlebar. The handlebar sits much higher due to the taller risers. Also the washers to increase clearance were not required.

RE could have launched this as roadster instead of cafe racer.
My +1

I would not suggest an RE unless an RE fanboy (at least by 10%). Stopped talking about RE in public forum because of the abuse by the Bakths. [embarass]. GT spares are already scarce. Have to preorder even air filters.

Avenger riser looks stupid. Most use KTM holders with spacers. Looking for cheaper spacers as most available are simply overpriced. Thinking of milling custom ones.

RE groups are full of idiots. The are like Apple Bhakts, Harley Bhakts and some Political Bhakts.

Actually the ones done by Raj from "Ride with Raj" look quite OK.

January 2019:
Though usage is low and has not failed heavily on us, the rust, oxidation and paint specking gives eyesore and a horrible feel. Not to mention the cracking rubber and plastic parts.

Handle riser 2.0

The first set of riser, old bearing, which I installed temporarily till I could mill out some spacer, but eventually forgot and stayed in place all these time, more than 2 years.

After checking almost all bar end weights, found RE ones perfect for the job. Apache 150's was even better, but it's not available anymore.
Bar End Weight - 521201/B - ₹ 101.00 x 2

2019-01-02 12-28-10.JPG

and like the bike, it was rusted from factory [frustration]

2019-01-02 13-02-43.jpg

It had almost flat profile in either side.

Dimensions:

3 cm/1-1/8 inch tall.

and 3.5 cm/1-3/8 inch diameter.

2019-01-02 12-29-23.JPG

Made the hole bigger starting with a millimeter bigger, incrementing another millimeter and finally 12 mm. It was quite easy, the internal ring was aluminium or aluminium like. Bored through without any drama. Need a vice to hold it.

2019-01-02 13-00-45.JPG

Primed and painted.

Longer Allen bolts, 4 inch. Got from the old school bolt shop in town (Seetha Stores). They had most of the bolts available. Tell the length and thread/head size, they'll get in no time. They also had the Nyloc Nut. ₹ 90.00 for a pair of each.

with outgoing KTM bolts, which was shorter by an inch and a half.

2019-01-22 22-09-49.jpg

Couple of thick washers. The surface wasn't perfectly flat, so needed these.

2019-01-22 22-14-54.JPG

KTM Handle Bottom Holder in proper position.

2019-01-22 23-29-18.JPG

Rotated it 180 degrees and the handle came closer by a centimeter.

2019-01-22 23-29-48.JPG

Looks a bit ugly, but powder-coating silver parts will make them look better.

2019-01-24 07-17-02.JPG

Bolt is a bit longer. need to trim that as well.

Clear Lens Headlight

After a long search, got 7 inch clear lens assembly. After the Amby era, no one is actually stocking these. Only normal ones are available.

Got Lumax made ones for Ambassador Grand. ₹ 395.00

April 2019:
Exhaust rewrapping:

Four years since previous wrapping, thread starts falling apart.

And the hose clamp rusted beyond recognition.

Unwrapped and it was rusted all over.

2019-04-14 13-23-24.jpg

New hose clamp.

2019-04-14 14-13-51.JPG

Primed and later painted black.

Left over wrap from previous.

Don't dare to touch it without gloves, full sleeve shirt and face mask. It's fiberglass and the feel is horrible, fine scratches all over body and itching.

2019-04-14 14-19-55.JPG

Rewrapped and clamped.
