World Cup 2019 Semi-Final Qualification Scenarios

1- Australia - already qualified.

2- India - now ranked 2nd on the world cup points table with 11 points in 7 matches. India yet to play Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. India just need one win from these 2 matches.

3- New Zealand - New Zealand is ranked 3rd on the world cup points table with 11 points in 8 matches. They have only one match left i.e England and they need to win this match to qualify.

Who will be the 4th semi-finalist?

1- England - they are in the 4th place now with 10 points. England need to play New Zealand and if a win will take England to the semi-final

2- Pakistan - They have to play Bangladesh. Pakistan currently has 9 points from eight matches. A win over Bangladesh will take it to 11 points but it will still have to bank upon England to lose its match against New Zealand. There is no other way that Pakistan will make it to the semi-finals.

3- Sri Lanka – Yet to face West Indie & India. Sri Lanka has 6 points from seven matches. Even if they wins its next two matches, it will be tied with England at 10 points and Sri Lanka's net run rate is way less than England. Sri Lanka will need to win its next two matches with a huge margin and expect England to lose by a huge margin to make its place in the semi-finals, which is unlikely.

4- Bangladesh- Yet to face India, Pakistan. Bangladesh has 7 points from seven matches. They need to win both these matches. Even if Bangladesh wins both the matches, it will have to bank upon England to lose its match against New Zealand and Sri Lanka to not win more than one match.

Afghanistan, South Africa & West Indies are already out of the world cup tournament.

Yes, India and Australia in my mind also, but for New Zealand and England, it all seems how/when they qualify for the semi final. If India beat England today, then New Zealand will qualify or New Zealand will have to beat England in their next league match on July 3. Pakistan came from the bottom, now in the top 4 with 9 points and they are also waiting for India beat England today...!!. Lets wait ...!
You are right. Bangladesh already out from the Tournament defeated by India. Pakistan is waiting for a chance if they can win with Bangladesh and New Zealand can beat England then Pakistan can get a change. But time will tell everything.

Ambati Rayudu announces international retirement after World Cup snub

India batsman Ambati Rayudu on Wednesday announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect. Rayudu will continue to play in the Indian Premier League. Rayudu had already retired from first-class Rayudu was not included in India's original 15-member squad for the World Cup 2019 and all-rounder Vijay Shankar was preferred over him. Chief selector MSK Prasad had stated that Shankar's 3-dimensional qualities made them pick him over Rayudu, who wasn't too happy with the decision.

Semi-Final Qualification Scenarios

Australia, India & England - already qualified

New Zealand all likely to qualify, unless Pakistan blessed with a golden luck from the match against Bangladesh tomorrow (5th July), which chances are very very remote as:

1- Pakistan must win the toss and bat first
2- Score 350 runs and then beat Bangladesh by 311 runs OR
3- Score 400 runs and beat Bangladesh by 316 runs OR
4- Score 450 runs and beat Bangladesh by 321 runs

However, If Bangladesh opt to bat first, Pakistan stand eliminated even before a ball is bowled.
