I think, the left side will have a door like that for sure. Since the expo photo is taken from the right side, we are seeing the sleek right side with out a door.

Yes, of course it is the Penguin. But the Penguin is based on the Iris platform, which itself is based on the Nano platform!

But why is TATA using Piaggio !!??

Looks like the rear doors open the other way, with hinges towards the rear of the vehicle. This could actually be a good design for ingres/egress for rear seats. The rear seat (on the back) will need some circus to get in if the door is opening in the conventional way.
But the exterior itself looks pretty ordinary, except for the tail lamps. They could have done some futuristic designing even though they are targetting commercial sector. Though, I do agree that there is very little one can do with the exteriors but that is where the designers have to think different.

Example - Indian jeeps always resembled each other (Mahindra models) untill Scorpio came up and set a league of its own.
The Scorpio was actually not designed by Mahindra itself but instead was actually thrown as a puzzle to some engineering college students. They actually got some out the book designs. One of them was picked, customized and that lead to Scorpio.

Had a chance to travel in a ACE over the weekend. Must say, pretty impressed. This was a converted public carrier used as a rickshaw. Carring 12 people on non-existent rural roads, its performance was really good. The suspension seems to be sturdy and the engine quite powerful.
Perfect for commercial goods transportation.

P.S: The above are two different points, please do not mix them.

Oh, So you sat in the Ace. I rarely spotted any here but during the visit to some rural location like of U.P, I was surprised that it is one of the most popular CV which is used just for the purpose which you told. Speaking about Venture, Overall from the picture it appears to be a no nonsense practical van, just hope the price should be accurate, otherwise looks are something far improved in comparison to Maruti Omni-E.

That’s the news, and hope it should be right this time. Last time the rumor was about the August launch which turned out to be false, it’s long enough they finally do it but same launch date will create havoc because both, Aria as well as Venture is much anticipated models.
