This rendering looks very good! Hope the production car is as good as this! [clap]
By the way, I see the Kite Notchback being tested here in Coimbatore regularly. Couldn't take a pic as it zoomed past my bus. Hope to take a snap one day.

The interiors do look pretty good. However, would have like the AC controls like the Vista, bolt or zest. the Knob things are pretty old styled. Yes similar knobs are present in Amaze and other cars but we would want Tata to do some thing better each time they launch a car. ;) Yeh Dil mange more.

All the same the dials look beautiful with Driver info display.

Who will be the rival for kite..? Celerio/WagonR/Beat/Grand i10 ?
I hope it will beat all of them hands down in space, features, engine options. On;y concern is the service which a particular buyer in that segment looks for. Peace of mind..!!

Tata Kite siblings Could Feature E-Clutch Transmission System

The e-clutch system was showcased by Bosch in 2013 and allows automated operation of the clutch in stop and go traffic conditions, leaving the gear-shifting to the driver.

Bosch-eClutch.jpg

Maruti Suzuki’s Celerio changed the outlook of automatic cars in India and has certainly paved way for more manufacturers to look into cost effective transmission systems offering the same convenience. While the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) on the Celerio is still Rs. 30,000-40,000/- more expensive than the manual version, Tata Motors is looking to undercut the same with the e-clutch transmission system that could feature on the upcoming Kite (codename) scheduled to be launched in the second half of this year.
While Tata Motors already offers the Zest diesel equipped with an AMT unit, the upcoming Kite will be a more cost effective model featuring the e-clutch system that offers automated clutch operation in stop and go traffic conditions while the driver needs to make the gearshifts. In essence, the e-Clutch pedal will transmit an electric signal that decouples the clutch and will let the car be driven in the first gear without manually using the clutch. Developed by Bosch and showcased in 2013, this system will be cheaper than an AMT unit and is said to be one-tenth the cost of a conventional automatic transmission system.

The e-clutch transmission system also comes with a coasting function that automatically decouples the engine from the transmission with the help of an electric signal if the driver is no longer accelerating. Bosch also says that the e-clutch system will provide 10 percent improvement in fuel efficiency of the vehicle. Tata Motors has been proactive in bringing new technologies to its latest generation of cars with the Bolt and Zest being loaded with several segment firsts. While there hasn’t been any confirmation on the e-clutch, it won’t come as a surprise if the company offers the same on the Kite twins which will be a major plus point for Indica and Indigo replacements.

Tata Kite to get an e-clutch system with 10% higher mileage than AMT – Report

Allows the driver to engage first gear without using the clutch.
The forthcoming Tata Kite hatchback could get an e-clutch system, says a report on Team BHP. The e-clutch system is comparatively cheaper than an AMT (automated manual transmission), which itself is about 40 percent the cost of a conventional automatic transmission, but will offer 10 percent better fuel economy than a manual. An AMT offers very similar fuel efficiency compared to a manual gearbox.

Tata Kite sedan spotted up-close – Spied

Targets the lower variants of the Dzire and Amaze.
IAB reader Vishal sent in a couple of spyshots of the Tata Kite compact sedan, understood to be the successor to the Indigo eCS, on test in Ooty, Tamil Nadu.

Based on a renovated Indica platform, an earlier report says that the Kite’s front-end design would have citations to the MegaPixel concept. Interior spyshots show the car getting a new dash with rectangular air vents, and white-backlit instrument cluster alongside a multi-information display.
Another report said last month that the Tata Kite hatchback could come with an e-clutch system that permits the driver to engage first gear without applying the clutch. The system which is comparatively cheaper than an AMT, will offer a 10 percent fuel economy gain over a manual. The same tech could be passed on to the sub-4m sedan.
The Kite sedan and hatch reportedly get the showcased but unused 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder diesel, and a 1.2-litre petrol engine. Power and torque for the former are claimed at 64 hp and 142 Nm, while gearbox options will include a 5-speed manual unit by default, and an optional automated manual transmission (AMT) borrowed from the ZEST

The Kite twins will be made at the Tata Nano plant in Sanand, Gujarat, whose capacity utilization is set to finish below 20 percent for the financial year, as per one newspaper report. We expect the Kite to be in showrooms during the second half of the year.

Interesting news, thanks for sharing gaddambhargavareddy,

What's more interesting is the transmission system where our country is now getting used to AMT and e clutch very soon?? This might be the key point of this vehicle.

Will be more of taxi-friendly for sure. Let's wait and watch.

Re: Tata Kite Compact Sedan (Indigo eCS Replacement)

From the experience of the Vista/Manza and Bolt/Zest i have a hunch that TML may be tempted to keep both the Indica/IndigoCS as well as the Kite Hatch and Compact Sedan.
I wish they would bring both out at killer prices-else we may see 1500 to 2000 sales each like the Bolt and Zest.

Tata Kite 5 (Boom) Rendered, Rear Takes BMW X6 Inspiration

Tata Motors has turned attention to design and its upcoming Kite siblings, the Glade and Boom will feature all new styling with nothing in common to previous Tata cars.

Tata-Kite-5-Sedan-Rendering.jpg

Tata Motors is betting big on new products and has a slew of them lined up for launch in the next couple of years. While the Bolt and Zest haven’t ignited the company’s sales as expected, the Kite siblings will definitely change things for the better. The Indian automaker is likely to call the Kite 4 as Glade while the Kite 5 could use the Boom nameplate. After getting some details about the vehicle, we have rendered the Kite 5 compact sedan which has taken inspiration from the BMW X6 for the rear, it gets a split tail light just like the German SAV.
The Tata Kite 5 gets a rising window line while the roof tapers to give it a very attractive appearance. To boost the premium-ness of the vehicle, the company will use some amount of chrome, including around the windows and on the grille. The headlight gets twin housings while the rearview mirrors are similar to the Bolt and Zest. The Kite 5 sedan will slot in below the Zest, replacing the Indigo eCS in the long run. It is underpinned by the Indica’s X0 platform but with heavy revisions to ensure better driving dynamics and lower NVH.
The Tata Boom will draw power from a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine which will get a lower state of tune when compared to the Falcon twins. Diesel power will come courtesy of a new 1.05-litre, DICOR mill which is a 3-cylinder unit. The Zest’s EPAS will also make its way to the Kite while a host of equipment will also be on offer. The Harman sourced audio system won’t feature on the Kite siblings due to cost reasons but a loaded infotainment system will be offered with all the connectivity options. Tata Motors is also working on the next generation Nano (codenamed Pelican) which will feature an all new dashboard while the bonnet will feature a power bulge. The vehicle will be powered by a new and higher displacement petrol engine.
