Tata Tiago facelift seen completely undisguised for the first time

While Tata is gearing up to introduce its Altroz premium hatchback on January 22, the automaker is also working on a major update for its entry-level model, the Tiago. The car has already been caught testing on Indian roads earlier and today, we bring you images of the upcoming Tiago sans camouflage for the first time, which could indicate an imminent launch soon enough.

Images of the undisguised model reveal that the facelift will bring about significant changes to the Tiago’s front facia, including slimmer headlamps and sleeker grille, underlined by Tata’s signature ‘Humanity Line’ in chrome. In order to comply with the pedestrian safety norms that come into effect from October this year, the hatch also gets a raised bonnet which imparts the front end a sharper profile – a look similar to the Altroz. The front bumper too has been completely redesigned with a large air dam and reshaped fog lamp housings with horizontal slats.

The spied model’s side profile largely remains similar to that of the outgoing car, so do the 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. A blacked-out roof and contrast coloured wing mirrors prove that the Tiago will retain its dual-tone paint shade offering as well. The rear can be expected to be tweaked with a revised bumper and updated tail lamp inserts.

Tata Tiago Facelift Spied Undisguised Ahead Of Next Month Launch

The spyshot suggests that Tata is almost nearing the end of its testing phase and will be launching the car soon

A most recent spy shot that was snapped shows the car without any sort of camouflages. From what can be seen in the spy shot, the Tiago will now come with a new front fascia that is defined by the sleeker grille and underlined by the company’s signature ‘Humanity Line’ in chrome. In addition to this, in order to comply with the upcoming pedestrian safety norms, coming into effect in October, the company has also graced the car with raised bonnet that imparts a sharper profile. The front bumper gets a new design with larger air dam and reshaped fog lamp housings with horizontal slats.

In terms if mechanicals, the current-gen 1.2-litre petrol engine will be updated to meet with the upcoming BS-VI emission norms. The engine will continue to be mated with a 5-speed manual transmission and an AMT. This engine will be the sole offering as the company has decided to axe small diesel engines from its line-up.

Tata Tiago facelift BS6 launch price Rs 4.6 L – Diesel discontinued

ImageResizer.ashx?n=http%3a%2f%2fcdni.autocarindia.com%2fExtraImages%2f20200122031404_Tata-Tiago.jpg

Prices for the 2020 Tata Tiago (which is also BS6-compliant) start at Rs 4.60 lakh for the entry-level XE variant and go up to Rs 6.60 lakh for the range-topping XZA+ variant. The prices are ex-showroom and have gone up by an average of Rs 20,000 from before.

With the facelift, Tata Motors has ditched the hatchback’s diesel engine since updating it to BS6 standards would have brought about an unreasonable price hike. Furthermore, the Tata Tiago and Tigor find much lesser takers in their diesel avatar, in comparison to the petrol variants. Hence, Tata Motors has made the right decision and might have disappointed just a few, unless none. Below is the detailed price list of BS6 Tiago.

The 2020 Tata Tiago has undergone a complete aesthetic revamp, especially at the front, which makes it more in line with Tata’s Impact 2.0 design philosophy, just like the Tata Altroz. Even though the design looks fresh, the top-end variant does not get projector headlamps as before.

On the inside as well, the changes are quite significant. The new flat-bottom steering wheel rests in front of a new digital instrument cluster while the climate control panel takes a new form. There is now a reverse camera park assist on offer too.

Tata Tiago Facelift: New TVC out

The video has been uploaded by Tata Motors on their youtube channel. The video mentions about the current situation of the country due to the spread of pandemic. All the sectors were affected by the pandemic and the lockdown that follwed after it. Now manufacturers are partially starting to open dealerships and facilities and the main motive behind this video is to boost up the spirits of the buyers so that more people could come forwards and buy cars. It also promotes government’s new philosophy ‘ Vocal for Local’ that promotes use of more and more locally made products over imported ones.
