I feel, roads such as those will show the real potential of the cars like Sumo Grande . The leaf setup rear suspension excels here. I take my car out for trekking trips. We go to the starting point, which has no roads at all. Sure its not off-roading, but places where cars like innova bottoms out and traction is limited. Goes without any complaints at a steady pace. SO if you are confident enough in your driving abilities, you should be able to do these trips irrespective of the car.

Only complaints after such trips will be worn out tie-rod ends. Which has more to do with the usage abuse.

Updating after a long time.

1. Had to do an engine overhaul.

Remember the radiator fan issues. That cropped up again. The relays for the highspeed would go kaput. When I drive i keep an eye on that. And have kept extra relays just in case. This time my cousin had used the car for trips to the ghats for a week. And then my father took it to manglore. When returning the engine just died on him, about 5 kms from our place. The engine had over heated and the waterpump seal got damaged and the radiator fluid drained out.

Sent the car to the TASC. Water pump was damaged. They opened the engine found the head was damaged. Then found that bore was also damaged. On further inspection found that thermostat also was damaged.

Overhauling was done. I am not fully satisfied by the work they have done. BUT.

There seems to be an issue. RPM fluctuation during idle(have to get it checked with a specialist). Rest all, specially cooling system is all working fine.

2. Gear linkage is a bit stiff. Its time to change the shifter pin I guess.
