Of late I was noticing decreased coolant level in my Nexon. Went to the ASS and purchased 2 litre of original TATA motors original coolant, and topped it up to the max level.
This is a premixed formula, and not the concentrate one.Easier for me.

Check the pipes, Joints and Tees for coolant leaks. If they have circlips, often there is small tear under that circlip (happens due to overtightening).
It should not consume any coolant.

It's not consuming coolant. Over 2years it has decreased by about 100ml needing top up, that's all. I always avoid going to service centre, so bought it myself. Same was the case with my xuv. During the 1st service itself they topped up about 150ml coolant. Rest of it they returned back to me in the new can.
Thanks for the tip, but I don't think it is abnormal.

PS. But since I respect your vast experience I would still check all the hoses and clips, just to be sure.

My safari was consuming coolant, Needing 500ML on every trip. First I thought Its an old car so it might be consuming. TASC also told me so.
Then one fine day I found minor white marks on 3 way plastic distributor near Radiator cap. The Hose had Circular Hair crack under the Circlip. And this would only leak when the coolant was Hot (Thermostat open and Coolant return pipe active), So it was very hard to see when topping up or so.

But 100ML is nothing. Happy driving.!

I knew you are speaking from experience that is why I added the post script in my last reply. You are correct. There is nothing wrong in checking out everything finely before sitting back relaxed. Thanks for the heads up.

Living the Nexon Life would have been easier had there been no frequent punctures in soft Bridge stone Turanza Tyres. This is the 5th puncture so far.
I love the alloys, and I love the 215 profile tyres provided as OEM on Nexon.
People upgrade to 195 section tyres on polos and Figos and swifts etc,and call them good and sporty. Here Tata has given 215 section as OEM spec. So I am more than happy about it.That was a big- big factor in my choice of Nexon over other cars. I have a special liking for big,large-profile tyres. Maruti in the interest of high mileage provided 165 section tyres in my Swift.
But there is a negative aspect too,as these tyres have a soft compound, which gets puncture often.Today I pulled out 2 nails from the tyre. One of them was over 2 inches in lengths.Already I have mended 5 punctures in my Nexon.

They don't get punctured?!!??? I mean whats the thing that doesn't let them get punctured?, their material? Or something stuffed inside?

My friend ,you jumped the gun too early. I meant to say just the opposite, along with sarcasm. Please read the quoted portion. I know you mean well,so thank you for your concern.

Life will be even easier if you can procure ATs in that side. Tyre noise will increase slightly but wet braking, puncture resistance, off road grip are far superior to soft bridgestone HTs.

BTW yes, 215 is plentiful size, only 20mm less than safari (in width, not height. Safari Tyre is 4 inches taller & has massive sidewall.)

AT tyres on a city hatchback? Just to save punctures? Why would I do that?
The whole ride will be spoiled. I don't do off roading. Its a city car,for crying out loud.
ATs are meant for SUVs,campers,pickups,4wheel drive vehicles etc etc. My car is none of those.
Noise will increase drone like.
Fuel efficiency will decrease.
More risk of cupping on ATs

My main issue is noise.A steady growl will be heard at any speed above 25km/hr, and will never go away even at higher speeds when wind noise usually overcomes the minor noise of Bridgestone highway tires. On paved roads, compared to AT tires, HT tires will give longer tread-life, better handling, and shorter braking distances, in both dry and wet conditions.
Also, as already mentioned HT tires have lower rolling resistance than AT tires and therefore will provide better fuel economy.
So its simple for me.No unnecessary experiments.

I can understand your post was intended with a very good intention of saving me ,from the agony and frustrations of punctures,as I myself pointed out. Thanks for that.I appreciate it.

@mayankdixit & @Nanofreak, Have a problem for both of you to suggest and maybe solve.

My car's front right Tyre looses air pressure frequently without having puncture and even after changing the air valve the problem persists. Have replaced the faulty tyre with the spare one but the puncture wala said "RIM mein he defect hai" . Now how should I go about it? What's the cost of a new rim? or can this be replaced in warranty?

Regards

Akash
