our first gen tata indica is still sold as TATA B-LINE in South africa, is this the way our indian manufacturer's want to go global?

selling outdated product at a lesser price will make our manufacturer's look like a wannabe chineese manufacturer's. instead cant they promote there latest models like Manza or Aria,

Is it just lack of confidence in there newest model or is it just lack of interest in establishing themselves as a car manufacturer across the globe? [frustration]

If B-Line is still a profit earning model, whats wrong in selling them? It might target the Taxi fleet in other countries too.

It's just not about the numbers, there whole strategy looks flawed,if a brand like vauxhall launched in india where it does not have any recognition would you expect their latest product at a competetive price or would you want them to launch a decade old product at a reasonable price?

Just have a look at the sales figures of Qualis & Logan, that will answer your question.
Ofcourse I will buy a decade old product from Vauxhall if it is reasonably priced in India rather than wasting the hard earned money just for the reason "new to the global market"

BTW, if B-Line is the only product being marketed by TATA, I partially agree with your point, but that's not the fact.

B-Line is the cheapest model being sold from Tata Motors in Africa. From a manufacturer’s point of view, there is no harm in selling a product as long as it is a profit earning model and buyers are accepting it too. There are certain foreign manufacturers that are also selling older models along with new counterparts in India but we are still buying them and it has not affected their reputation either. Similarly, Tata Motors is also selling Indica Vista (Vista Ego), Indigo, and Xenon. I think that is how things are working across the world (atleast in developing markets).
