Tata Indigo eCS facelift spied

Tata Indigo eCS facelift testing in Pune.To recap, changes to the front-end would be smoked headlights, an updated grille and restyled foglights. Smoked headlights could become a bespoke feature to future Tata cars as even the upgraded Aria top-end variant was spotted with them.

he rear-end gets changes such a diffuser effect to the bumper (revealed in a previous spyshot) and a revised chrome embellishment over the number plate holder. The top-end VX variant features ABS as inscribed on the lid. Camouflage over the boot lid and hood prompt speculations of a partial reskinning exercise which we’re not able to verify through close analysis. Unlike the headlamps, the rear combination lamp gets no updates.

The layout of the interior is unchanged with beige used throughout in generous quantities.

Spied: This is the TATA Indigo eCS facelift

Tata Indigo eCS now comes with facelift. Regular Indian Autos Blog readers would know that the Tata Indigo eCS is due for a facelift and we’ve been bringing you spyshots of the camouflaged car, while it was being tested in Pune. However, Team BHP have just gotten their hands on the Indigo eCS facelift sans camouflage.

At first glance, the refreshed Indigo eCS sports the changes we were speculating earlier. Tata has added a ‘smoked’ blackened lens to the headlight of the car and this is something we can also expect in future refreshes from the brand (we’ve seen something similar on the Aria shown at the Geneva Motor Show this year).

The grill of the new eCS has generous helpings of chrome. It seems to sport a honeycomb structure and the Tata logo is set on a chrome garnish.

The front bumper of the car has also been tweaked and the foglamps are surrounded with a chrome enclosure.

We had earlier reported that the eCS facelift will add a new color termed by Tata as ‘Urban Bronze’. This is the same color caught by an Indian Autos Blog reader sometime ago and we seem to be confident that Tata are introducing this new color to the car.

The Indigo eCS facelift will also sport a newly designed alloy wheel, which is seen in these spy shots.

Tata is expected to announced the eCS facelift on June 19. Stay tuned for further updates about the car on Indian Autos Blog.

Hope they have also worked on the ABC pedal placement, the current version was so poorly and un-ergonomically designed.

I like following:
1. the Blackened headlamps does look really neat!
2. the 4 spoke steering is also good change,
3. Black dashboard is a welcome change,
4. There seems to be circular knob below the right side AC vent. I guess this for the changing the headlight angle. Looks nice better than the current ones.
5. Chrome highlights at the back seem good.

What I dont like:
1. the Ac knobs shouldhave kept it to be circular (like in Manza)
2. The AC clusster looks pretty bare, Has every thing needed but so much bareness kind of turns me off.
3. the octagonal shape of speedometer and RPM indicator seems to be bit overdone. Could have continued with existing dials. Or couldhave borrowed the same from Manza.

Dont understand why TATA is going to past when others are going to future.
The steering wheel is of 2000 model Indica [frustration]
Glove box was lockable earlier, now missing.
