This is not true. Tata owns the whole LR and Jaguar companies. In case of MG, Baujun have only purchased the Registered brand name "MG" and not the company itself or even its factoried AFAIK. They're using just MG name for marketing.
Originally MG Rover Group transferred ownership from BMW to Phoenix consortium in the form of MG, Morris and Austin Brand marque rights and ROVER Group Assists including Historical Longbridge Factory where original Rover Land Rover cars made, later Phoenix consortium sold key assets to Nanjing Automobile during this period from 2005 to 2007 MG Rover UK sold MG branded Sports cars and Rover(marque licensed by BMW) branded cars and surprisingly MG ROVER UK sold TATA Indica as ROVER CityROVER.

MG Rover UK come to end when TATA purchased JLR from FORD they also bought ROVER marque rights from BMW and merged in JLR, Then after Nanjing Automobiles merged with SAIC and formed MG Motors UK limited subsidiary of SAIC Motor UK started Importing SAIC CKD cars and assembled MG at Longbridge factory.

Upcoming Tata Harrier All-Black Edition: Check it out

tata-harrier-all-black-1.jpg

Tata Motors is all set to launch an all-black edition of the Harrier SUV, which is now facing increased competition. In the face of heightened competition, the Harrier all-black edition seeks to deflect some buyer interest back to Tata Motors’ latest and sharpest-looking SUV. The all-black edition of the Harrier features a gloss black paint scheme, matte finish for the front and rear bumper inserts, blacked out alloy wheels, all-black leather seats and textured grey dashboard trim that replaces the faux wood inserts. The SUV is likely to be introduced in a few days from now, right in the middle of India’s festive season as a new top-end trim. A small price premium is likely.

Now that Tata have gathered sense to launch a new black variant, hope they gather some more to give the following necessary luxury features to stay relevant in the competition
1. OEM Sunroof
2. Autobox
3. Petrol variant (manual and auto variant)
4. TPMS

Plus they need to come up with Crash ratings to show the prowess of the Land Rover platform. if not 3 alteast 1,2 and 4 are easily possible for an OEM of this capacity.

This is just a band-aid, trying to cover up damage. competition has already moved the game to the next level. Tata should wake-up and provide something meaningful.

Friends can you throw some light on...
How come, same engine is silent in Hector and Compass but noisy in Harrier?

Tata knows to insulate engine to make cabin silent. Safari and Nexon are examples. Then why this problem exists?
Is it that the platform Tata chose for Harrier is not suitable to this engine? I mean resonance issues. Or the tuning of the engine has effect on NVH?

Electric sunroof is of no use, unlikely it will get used frequently in our climate. It will end up with rust/rains etc. Better if needed it has to be a panoramic roof which gives the benefit of airiness, light etc., vs just a show piece of sunroof. #Hector looks really nice like a Range Rover with the roof

Plus they need to come up with Crash ratings to show the prowess of the Land Rover platform
I understand that the crash testing is picked up by the testing agencies (not necessarily in a queued up manner), so manufacturer cannot predict when their model is going in (pl correct me if otherwise)

How come, same engine is silent in Hector and Compass but noisy in Harrier?
I think Tata detuned the FIAT box for #harrier, the mapping also plays a role - maybe that's why the difference in NVH

Tata Harrier: Why you should never leave your key inside the car! [Video]

Leaving the car keys inside the car and locking it is a sort of nightmare all of us wish to never encounter in reality. Yet, life happens and such unfortunate situation strikes people during the most unsuspecting times. Locking the car with the keys inside literally means that you are stranded with your vehicle and not much can be done unless you have a spare key around. A few modern cars do come with emergency services and connected services that will help you out of such situations but most cars in India under Rs. 30 lakh price mark don’t offer such technologies as of now. The video below by Amar Sakharkar shows a Tata Harrier owner who is unfortunately stuck in a similar situation where the SUV is locked with the keys inside.

This looks like a base model.
In Tata Harrier XZ model, car will not lock if key is inside and also warn you with a horn sequence.

Tata Harrier Dark Edition Details Leaked Ahead of Launch, All-Black SUV Looks Dominating

Tata-Harrier-Dark-Edition-2-final.jpg

Soon after MG Hector stole the spotlight in the premium SUV segment in India, Tata sprang into action and launched the Harrier with a new dual-tone paint scheme. But with Hector continuing to eat into the latter’s sales, Tata has geared up to introduce yet another version of the Harrier with new cosmetic tweaks.
The new car dubbed to be the All-Black edition will woo everyone who loves all-things-black in their garage. The paint-scheme was missing from the model’s lineup when it was introduced in the Indian market. While this was not much of a deal-breaker, it definitely made it to the list of cons of the car.

Checkout the latest Tata Harrier Dark edition TVC

Tata launched a special edition of the Harrier yesterday in a bid to revoke interest in the general public about the SUV. Christened the Dark Edition, it basically carries a mean-looking paint scheme and is based on the top-end XZ trim. The Harrier Dark edition is available for sale at Rs. 16.76 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) which actually is the exact same price that Tata demands for the dual-tone XZ variant of the Harrier. As its name suggests, the Harrier Dark Edition is draped in black all around with only a few bits breaking the monotonicity of black on the car. Even the interiors have been given the same black treatment and hence if black is a colour you’ve always loved, you’ll be in for a treat with the Harrier Dark edition. Let’s now check out the TVC of the special edition SUV.
