Just read about H7X. the renders from what I have read in other forum is pretty accurate, however there is slight modification in the rear quarter glass. But over all the shape is pretty much the same.

this surely looks like MErc GLS. Fused with the Rangerover. Surely the 3rd row would be mighty spacious.

Tata Harrier H7X first teaser image – Rival to Mahindra XUV700, Toyota Fortuner

It seems Tata Motors has cleverly packaged early teasers of multiple upcoming products in its promo video which was released at the Auto Expo 2018 at the world premiere of 45X and H5X concepts. The video shows an early sketch of what could eventually become the 7-seater version of Harrier which is currently referred as Harrier H7X by the media in the absence of an official name.

The very basic sketch suggests that the Tata Harrier H7X will retain most of H5X’s design cues till the mid-section after which, the premium SUV will get new rear overhang, long enough to accommodate the third row of seats. It’s unclear as of now if the wheelbase will be stretched to ease up more real estate although that would be a better approach.

While the Harrier H5X features a roofline that tapers down towards the rear to form a tightly skinned fascia like the Range Rover Evoque, its 7-seater sibling will have a flatter roof to make room for last row passengers’ heads.

We expect the rear fascia to be completely different from that of the Harrier H5X. The taillights would be positioned lower, the tailgate would be more upright to offer a practical boot capacity, and there could be more design elements to mask the visual bulk of the larger rear section.

The Tata Harrier H7X would rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700. The new flagship would be hoping to beat its more established rivals by using its Land Rover pedigree and an attractive value proposition.

Speaking of Land Rover pedigree, the Harrier H7X will be underpinned by the OMEGA platform which is derived from the British UV specialist’s D8 architecture. Like the Harrier, the upcoming premium Tata 7-seater SUV will adopt 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine sourced from FCA. This engine delivers 171 PS and and 350 Nm.

The Harrier H5X is scheduled to be launched in first quarter of 2019 while the 7-seater is expected in 2020. Once launched, expect the premium 7 seater SUV with 4×4 to be priced in the range of Rs 25 lakhs, ex-showroom.

Are you the Tata H7X?

The Mahindra XUV500 is currently the only proper three-row unibody SUV available in India for a price of under INR 20 lakh, and Tata Motors plans to disrupt its market with the launch of the H7X. There’s also the opportunity of luring Jeep Compass customers by offering a plusher three-row model for the price of a five-seater.

This is not the H7X.
Reason ; THE ROOF
If you look back at the sketch of the H7X, you can notice the difference. The roof of the Harrier tapers down to the rear and the H7X rises. Also the roof should have roof rails. Also as per the design, the rear glass looks more vertical in the sketch design but here in the Harrier it tapers down. Also expect bigger wheels and new alloy design.
But wheels are filling the wheel arches seems that they probably are an 18" wheels.

Tata-H7X-7-seat-SUV-IAB-rendering.jpg

Tata Motors will not just launch the Harrier SUV in 2019, but also a 7 seat version of the Harrier that’s code-named the H7X. The 7 seat variant of the Harrier, which will be 62 mm longer but with the same 2,741 mm wheelbase, has been spied testing both in India and on international roads. The SUV will also be pricier and will sit above the Harrier in terms on positioning. According to ACI, this information comes from Guenter Butschek, the CEO of Tata Motors.

Sketch looks more like Merc GSL design and actually i liked it much. i am not a big fan of harrier's curvy design but prefer more mature, elegant and European style design. if above render is parallel to H7X then i will be happy to trade of my Hexa for Mighty H7X.

Coming to the reports of H7X being launched in 2019, I believe that they would only do media drives just like they did for Harrier and finally the vehicle will be on road by Jan/Feb 2020 only. Just like Harrier. For Harrier time lines,
we saw the Harrier mules in Jan 18 (in Harrier Shell),
got the concept in Feb2018
finally the production reveal in Nov 2018
Media Drive in Dec 2018
And Lauch in 2019 Jan 23.

So it takes around atleast 1 year from concept to launch, and we are taking of launch in 2019 for H7X.

Agreed much of the testing is already done in Harrier, the dimensions is not that different from harrier but silhouette would be/ has to be quite different from Harrier. Harrier is more like Coupe design (like Evoque) where as for H7X it has be like the ones in Merc GLX or Range Rover where the roof doesn't slope downward. I would want to drive home the point that we have not yet seen any H7X mules on roads. IF they are then probably I would have mistaken them for Harrier which is bad, we cannot differentiate between the 2 then.

So all in all, I can hope that reveal would be in 2019 if at all, and launch with price, and deliveries in 2020. they will give at least an year for Harrier to stabilize.

Tata H7X Likely To Be Priced From 14 Lakh, Concept To Debut Next Month

Tata-H7X-1021x574.jpg

The Tata H7X will be bigger than the Harrier and will look slightly less radical. The addition of the third row will lead to an increment in the length. Even the sloping roofline of the Harrier will be absent on the H7X to make sure there is enough headroom for the passengers in the last row of seats. The new model will have the same wheelbase of 2,741 mm but will be 62 mm longer than the Harrier.

Tata H7X caught testing with Safari Storme & Nexon before launch

screenshot-www.cartoq.com 2019-03-01 10-21-54-837.jpeg

Tata will soon unveil the H7X SUV at the Geneva Motor show on 5th March. It will be the 7-seater version of the recently launched Tata Harrier and will be launched in the Indian market later this year. Tata has started releasing teaser videos and images of the upcoming H7X, and before the global unveiling, a heavily camouflaged version of the SUV was caught on benchmarking test with the Tata Nexon and the Tata Storme.

I tried to reach Guenter Butschek on twitter. But he seems not available. So asked Pratap Bose a question.

Hey Pratap sir, a question for Guenter sir and you plz
With the 2 modular platform limitations, would the Body on ladder frames get eliminated. That pushes out TATA from the off roader segment that can have both Butch SUVs and Lifestyle trucks using the same structure. Thank you

I hope I will get a response from him.
