@Kingtut, I would argue that, The Breeze, and many other cars, you see doing well, have tried to copy the design directions from the likes of Landrover, and Jaguar. If you see this Reva the bonnet looks heavily inspired from Rangerovers.

As Vivek mentioned, I don't find the indica resemblance one bit, could have agreed on Bolt, to some extent on Tiago but Altroz. absolutely not. Cannot find any indica resemblance.

why criticism when it comes to TATA after generation Ahead still comparing with Indica thats not fare guys, Ofcourse TATA always Follows some design language since day one they started building cars mojor similarity on every TATA car is its smiling face in all sort of shades and now that smile become bolder since TATA impact design implementation. we should be proud if it our very own indian brand doing best.

From the Geneva pics, a closer look shows rain/light sensors on the windshield.

Also note, the center console has moodlighting.

This time Tata has not been true to its concept which they showed with Nexon and Harrier. Concept car gave huge promise but the production car does not live up to the mark.
For me the biggest turn off is dashboard design. Exterior design may grow on me over time.
The success of the car will depend on mechanicals, ride and handling. Wondering if this is powered by the same Nexon engine with lower state of tune or Nexon engine block with different turbo unit. If latter the case can bring new set of niggles and tuning issues.

2019 Tata Altroz Diesel caught testing, to take on Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20

The 2019 Tata Altroz that is seen in these spied images is the diesel model. Power for the Altoz is expected to come from a 1.2l turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5l turbocharged diesel. Tata is also expected to make available a 1.2l naturally-aspirated petrol engine to achieve a more competitive entry price point. The 1.5l diesel unit is the same as that in the Tata Nexon.

I don't know why people are against NA petrol engine in Altroz. Which of the competitors in the segment feature a Turbo engine? Only probably Baleno RS but its only 1.0L but that also mainly sells in NA engine. I, for one would love to see a NA petrol engine due and would love to purchase in the same avatar. I really like the petrol engine in Tiago as it gives decent FE in city and very good FE on the highways. Turbo petrols give very less FE in city and that would be a really big deterrent for Tata. all those suggesting for a turbo petrol won't even consider Altroz. Giving it an NA petrol engine doesn't make it any less premium but its rather better as more the variety and the buyer would love to chose what he/she wants. FE is a major factor for cars in India and Tata should not focus on pointless suggestions. Instead of not providing NA engine options, I would rather suggest improving on the NVH levels of the current 3cyl engine without compromising on the FE factor. Surely adding a balancer shaft would take a toll on the FE but the lower weight thatn Tiago should make the matter better.

Now for Altroz I would want to have a smooth, 4 cylinder powerful engine. Yes can agree that Volkswagen polo has/had 3 cylinder engine. But this is Tata and people will not accept a 3 cylinder engine for a premium Hatch.
To me a premium hatch is
0. one which as most of the safety features in place
1. Comfortable luxurious well equipped
2. nice to drive Mind you not hoot to drive
3. highway mile muncher
4. with decent FE

So rather than provided turbo and all the jazz on engine, a performing 4 cylinder engine which is quite will work. The car will be well kitted so no question on that, neither is there question on ride and handling. Kitna yeti hai? Guess we need to move to Kitni Safe Hai. So a 4 or 5 start safety expected.

Yes exactly. Turbo petrols are not that efficient and effective compared to Turbo diesels and even more so for the smaller engines. Instead of going gaga over turbo petrol, Tata should work on a competitive 4-cyl NA petrol engine which should provide decent power and marginally better FE than competitors. I strongly believe that behind the success of Tiago also stands its stupendous FE of 23.8 kmpl which is one of the highest ARAI figures of any petrol car and highest for a 1200cc petrol car. Also I do hope Tata does not start removing features from Altroz after its success just like they started with Tiago and Nexon especially Tiago.

Unlike baleno turbo altroz turbo will be good.
Because with out turbo baleno engine will be sluggish so it will have to be always on turbo zone but altroz will have better power to weight ratio even without turbo compared to i20. So altroz can be driven sanely to extract mileage and if you want power that can be had too.
Keep it below turbo zone you can have similar performance of tiago and above that power figures are similar to gt tsi. ARAI figures will be above 25.
