Good that you changed the pipes. For rust get 3m Under-seal rust coating. I have bought it 300 rs per kg apply it under body and inside it will protect your car from rust.

Do post the pic's of parts and damages.

That was a real sad (yet lucky in one way) accident. GOod that you were at lower speeds. Do post pics of those new parts. The damage on the bonnet will be costly to repair I guess, since it has to be tinker, repainted. Check the hinges if they are damaged due to impact.

When I stripped my car interiors for rewiring & painting, I did check these pipes. I am sure they are not OEM ones, as there was no rust on them (probably replaced by previous owner).
