Renault Triber exports from India start – 600 units to S Africa

Just like the Kwid budget-hatchback it is based on, the Renault Triber became an instant success on the Indian market. This is particularly evident from the fact that you can see a lot of Tribers flocking in the streets of almost all major and minor cities in India, especially in its Metal Mustard (metallic orange) shade.

Now, the French-origin automotive company shares that it has commenced exports of the Triber to South Africa. The first batch of exports carries 600 Triber units and the figure would see a rise in the coming months, depending on demand.

Ventatram Mamillapalle, CEO & MD of Renault India, commented that with more than 20,000 Triber units already on Indian roads, the company is confident that it will be just as successful in potential foreign markets such as other African and SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) nations.

Renault India has just launched the Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms compliant version of their best-selling car: the recently-launched Triber compact MPV. Prices of the BS6 compliant Renault Triber start from Rs. 4.99 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The are 4 trims on offer: RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ, and the trim-wise prices of the compact MPV are as follows. RXE: Rs. 4.99 lakh, RXL: Rs. 5.74 lakh, RXT: Rs. 6.24 Lakh and RXZ: Rs. 6.78 lakh. All prices reflect ex-showroom Delhi figures. This makes the MPV pricier by Rs. 5,000-15,000 depending on the variant chosen.

The video starts by showing the interiors of the car where it shows the dashboard layout, glove box, steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment system, push start button, semi digital instrument cluster and storage spaces on the centre console. This video shows how practical Triber MPV actually is.

Moving ahead it show the seat layout of the Triber MPV. It shows how flexible the seating for rear passengers can be. The second row of seats can be folded individually to make more space for luggage. The video even shows how much luggage can the Triber accomodate with 4 or 5 passengers. Other attraction of the Triber MPV is the third row of seats that can be completely removed from the car if needed. It can easily be reinstalled by the owner.

Made-In-India Renault Triber Launched In South Africa



Renault has announced that it has launched the Triber MPV in South Africa. The subcompact MPV was first launched in India with prices starting at ₹ 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom India) and right from the word go, the company had announced its intention to export the Triber to other markets and now with the launch in South Africa, that process has started. The company has already sold more than 28,000 units of the Triber in India and it's one of the most successful models for the company in recent times followed by the Kwid.

Exports to South Africa had already started in December 2019, when the company shipped out 600 units of the Triber. The Triber has been launched in India only with the petrol engine, and it's a 1-litre unit good enough for 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque. Based on a modified version of the CMF-A platform, the Renault Triber is the first sub-4 metre 7-seater from the company. The car is equipped with features like - projector headlamps, LED DRLs, electric boot release, smart-looking wheels, functional roof rails and more. It also comes with a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear AC vents, and a first-of-its-kind modular third row called EasyFix.

Renault Triber AMT Launched In India; Prices Start At ₹ 6.18 Lakh



Renault India has launched the Triber AMT in India and prices start at ₹ 6.18 lakh. The Triber with the automated manual transmission will be made available in three trims - RXL, RXT and RXZ. The price difference between the manual and the AMT is ₹ 40,000 which makes it a great value proposition in the market. Renault has also started bookings for the Triber AMT online and the company says that deliveries will start in the coming weeks. In fact, the company has also said that the Triber AMT will start arriving at dealerships from today for customers to drive.

The Triber range starts at ₹ 4.99 lakh in India but the base variant RXL AMT starts at ₹ 6.18 lakh. The RXT variant is priced at ₹ 6.62 lakh while the RXZ costs ₹ 7.22 lakh (all prices ex-showroom India)

2021 Renault Triber Launched In India; Prices Start At ₹ 5.30 Lakh


The Renault Triber is one of the highest selling models in the French carmaker's range in India. The company has sold over 75,000 units in the country and is planning to keep up with the numbers with a new model year update. So Renault has launched the 2021 Renault Triber with prices starting at ₹ 5.30 lakh for the RXE variant and going all the way up to ₹ 7.65 lakh for the range-topping RZX AMT trim. The 2021 Renault Triber will be offered in four trims- RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ variants and while the base RXE trims is offered only with manual transmission, latter three are being sold with both manual and automatic options. However, prices of the new Renault Triber hasn't increased and they remain similar to the outgoing model.

The above photos (specially the one with the car carrier in the background) bring on nostalgia in waves! The Mitsui car carrier fleet with whom I had sailed for 10 years (I retired in 2008) also had the same colour scheme - cream & blue. Marvellous days!

Renault Triber Limited Edition Version Launched


Renault India has achieved a new milestone this month with sales of the Triber MPV crossing the one lakh milestone. Launched in 2019, the MPV has been a brisk seller and quite an innovative offering bringing multi-seater practicality at an extremely accessible price point. Having achieved the landmark sales figure in about two-and-a-half years, Renault has launched the new Triber Limited Edition at a starting price of ₹ 7.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Limited Edition Renault Triber is based on RXT variant and will be offered in both manual and AMT gearbox options.

The Renault Triber Limited Edition gets the new stylish Akaza fabric upholstery along with a dual-tone dashboard with a piano black finish. The fully digital white LED instrument cluster, HVAC knobs with chrome ring and black inner door handles further enhance the visual appeal of the vehicle. The Triber Limited Edition will also arrive in special dual-tone colours - Moonlight Silver and Cedar Brown with a contrast black roof. The model also gets stylish new 14-inch flex wheels.


The Renault Triber Limited Edition continues to draw power from the 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated ENERGY engine. The petrol engine makes 71 bhp and 96 Nm of peak torque. The Triber has also been impressive on the safety front having received a four-star safety rating by the Global NCAP. The model comes with four airbags - front and side for both the driver and the passenger. The driver's seat also gets a load limiter and pretensioner.

Other features on the Renault Triber include a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering mounted controls, push-button start/stop, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, six-way adjustable driver's seat, and more.
