2020 Renault Kwid (facelift) makes spy photo debut

With the facelift, the Renault Kwid has incorporated a front-end inspired by the design of the Renault City K-ZE, which is basically its pure electric variant introduced as a separate model. There’s a new radiator grille and the headlamps seem to have gone under a complete redesign, adopting the split, two-tier style that is the latest trend among SUVs globally. What’s clear is that the A-segment car has gained LED lightning with the facelift. The lower grille is also new, and it comprises three horizontal slats.
On the sides, the test mule is equipped with new wheel caps, and new alloy wheels are likely to be available as accessories. At the rear, like at the front, there's a new bumper, and along with tweaked tail lamps, it should give Renault’s low-cost hatchback a subtle visual refresh. On the inside, expect the 2020 Renault Kwid to come with new upholstery and trim, and maybe even a new instrument cluster similar to that of the Renault City K-ZE.
With the facelift, the Renault Kwid’s 0.8- and 1.0-litre SCe three-cylinder petrol engines should get upgraded to conform to BS-VI emission norms. The BS-IV version of these naturally aspirated units come in the tuning of 54 PS/72 Nm and 68 PS/91 Nm respectively. Transmission choices should remain the same: 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual.

Before giving the Kwid its first facelift, Renault will roll out another minor change for the first generation Duster. The company’s first launch this year will be the Triber MPV, though, set to reach showrooms in July.

Renault will bring in the facelift close to the festive season and hence it is expected that the launch will take place in September-October’19. Once launched, the updated Kwid will continue to compete with the likes of Datsun redi-GO and Maruti Suzuki Alto. Pricing is expected to remain in the familiar Rs 2.75 – 4.75 lakh range, ex-sh.

Renault Kwid BS6 facelift variant spied on test – Video

From the video, 2020 Kwid appears to have grown in dimensions, especially where length is concerned. The test mule of new Kwid sported steel wheels, black ORVMs, a new three slat radiator grille, lighting in the front in a two tier setup and LED DRLs. It also gets changes to the rear with new tail lamp design while it also sports restyled bumpers.

Over design theme looks like renault took inspiration for TATA IMPACT 2.0, look at bottom of bumper lip quite similar to TATA attroz and and DRL's front Grill shape came from TATA H2X concept

My exclusive sneak peek of the Renault 2020 Kwid RXT variant
Going by the latest fad, started by Harrier, of having the headlights console on bumper, looks pretty decent except for the orange highlights on the climber, without it looks well executed.
No changes on the rear.
Will surely do much better than the soon to be released Suzuki S Presso, which looks ugly, to say the least.
