Okinawa hikes dealer margins to 11 per cent, per sale

As the country is combating COVID- 19, Okinawa increases the margins for dealers from 8 % to 11% per sale

April 28, 2020, Gurugram, India: Okinawa- Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturing company with a focus on ‘Make in India’ has increased dealer margins to 11 per cent per sale. Amidst the COVID-19 spread, a lot of organization and people are surviving through the cost crunch. Okinawa has announced an increase of dealer margin from 8 % to 11 % per sale. The brand intends to enable its dealer network to make more profits, while everyone together sails through the difficult times. The hike is effective from 27th April until further notice. Okinawa currently has a sales network of over 350 dealerships across the country.
The hike in dealer margins is expected to add up to INR 2000 per vehicle in a dealer’s kitty. All in all, this will lead to handsome profits for the dealers. For example, if a dealer is selling 100 vehicles in a month, he will end up making an additional profit of over INR 2, 00,000.

Announcing the Dealer Margins Mr. Jeetender Sharma –Founder & MD, Okinawa affirmed “We understand that the country is going through difficult times. In this hour, everyone holds a responsibility to do their bit to make it easier for as many people, as possible. Our dealer partners are the true brand ambassador and Okinawa always stood by them. Strengthening this commitment, Okinawa today has announced a hike in dealers’ margins. We expect this to get some respite the dealers, as the majority of the industries are going through the slowdown.”

Gurugram, May 11, 2020:
Okinawa, a leading electric 2-wheeler manufacturing company with a focus on Make in India today announced resuming operations with 25 percent workforce at its corporate office and manufacturing unit. Further to the Government’s relaxation of rules, Okinawa has shared that it will maintain safety measures at workplace, manufacturing unit, and dealership networks, as it begins business activities. The brand has issued advisory to its dealership network, which too will be operating with 25 % staff. At the same time, all the products will be sanitized before getting dispatched from the assembly at the manufacturing unit and Dealer partners will sanitize post receiving the products. To ensure the safety of the customers and dealers, the proper thermal screening will be conducted at all the dealerships of Okinawa, as per the advisory. Also, all the dealerships re-opening in orange and green zones will be disinfected on a daily basis.

At the corporate office, Okinawa is taking precautionary measures by working on seating arrangements of the employees to maintain social distancing. Following Government advisory, the brand has also made Aarogya Setu mobile application compulsory for employees along with masks and other protective equipment. As a human resource initiative, all the departments have been assigned dedicated committees to ensure SOP adherence. The HR department will also conduct COVID 19 awareness sessions everyday with the employees. Also, the company has prepared a special team to transport the employees to the hospital in case of any medical emergency, and further to the Government quarantine center, if found positive.
Meanwhile, before resuming manufacturing activities, the brand has also installed a sanitization tunnel for individuals at the plant.

“In this unfortunate scenario for the entire nation, Okinawa as a responsible brand is taking all the possible measures to safeguard its workforce, dealer partners, and customers. We along with the Government need to work in sync to sail through these challenging times. As the Government has announced a relaxation on economic activities, we have decided to resume business operations gradually, maintaining all the precautions. Hence, we are ensuring the safety and sanitation of all the touchpoints. We have issued an advisory to our dealer partners and a comprehensive standard operating procedure to our workforce, in order to ensure complete safety,” said Mr. Jeetender Sharma- MD, Okinawa.

Amidst the COVID-19 scenario, Okinawa also announced a hike in dealer margin from 8 percent to 11 percent to enable its dealer network to make more profits. The brand is committed to contributing and taking responsibility for all its stakeholders’ health and well-being in every possible manner.

Okinawa plans to add 150+ dealers to its network this yearThe company aims to cross 500 Dealerships by the end of fiscal FY20-21


Gurugram, July 20, 2020:
Okinawa, a leading make in India electric two-wheeler manufacturing company has announced aggressive dealership expansion plans. The company targets taking its dealership network reach a 500 from the current 350 + dealers’ network. The brand also plans to target sub dealers apart from the primary dealers while expanding its footprints.

While COVID-19 has forced a slowdown across the industries, Okinawa had shared the plan to accelerate its marketing activities and strengthen its dealership network. Recently, the brand also announced a hike in dealership margins from 8 to 11 per cent, to support the partners amidst the unprecedented COVID-19 spread.

The company would primarily be targeting cities across in the states – Bihar, Maharashtra, Assam and eastern region.

“There is no doubt that it will take a little time for the market to pick up. While the things gradually return to normalcy, we plan to grow ourselves across the country to serve the customers better. As the COVID-19 curve flats, there will be a demand for private vehicles. Given the fact that electric vehicles are economically more viable in the longer run, people would want to opt for it. Okinawa dealership network has been operating with limited staff and in accordance with the advisory issued by the brand. With about 30 per cent of the dealerships operational, the brand delivered over 1000 vehicles within a span of 30 days post the company resumed their services abiding the government rules. The aggressive expansion plan of the company follows the rising demand of electric vehicles among customers.

The brand has simplified the application process for dealers who wish to associate with Okinawa. The company has taken the entire procedure online to maintain safety procedures. Okinawa has rolled-out the 2,50,000th unit, a Praise Pro scooter, from its manufacturing plant in Rajasthan to become the first EV manufacturer in India to achieve this milestone.

The company plans to unveil its first electric cruiser motorcycle soon, followed by more new models in 2023 along with a network of 1,000+ dealerships across India by 2025.
