Regarding TML,

Tiago survived first month of Santro clash with not much loss. Hope after the initial buzz, Santro sales settles and people will start considering Tiago for its more mature looks and features.

Tigor showing an uptick after the facelift. Maybe in coming months this will come down. JTP may give the Tigor as a brand the much needed admiration.

Nexon outsold Ecosport once again and the gap is widening each month.

Storme doing such numbers is surprising.

1. Hyundai - Hyundai seems to have picked up the momentum after Santro launch. It is apparent that they stopped production of Eon to make way for new Santro. Santro may soon join 10000 club with 3 other cars from their stable. It's amazing that such a pricey i20 manages 13000+ sales. It might get interesting if they launch more products in the price range of Maruti, with a sub 4 compact SUV Carlino to start up with.

2. Maruti is doing okay. It would be interesting when they get rid of their bread and butter Omni and Eeco when new Bharat crash testing regulations come into place.

3. Tata - Flag bearer Tiago is doing very well along with sibling Tigor. Tigor for once is showing promise of matching Amaze. It will be good times ahead if they can keep up with new launches.

4. Honda - Honda has been consistently losing market share even when Amaze is doing solid sales. It would be better if they go back to making solid engineered cars than competing with Marutis.

5. Ford - New Aspire has not done any wonders to Ford. It just maintained its share. Ford seriously has to think about bringing a premium hatch and sedan to boost their image and bring more footfalls into their showroom.

6. Mahindra - Marazzo has been welcomed by the market with a red carpet! I hope it can make Toyota rethink their premium pricing of Innova.

7. Toyota - Status quo on monthly sales. Does anyone noticing the rising graph of Liva? Its matching Etios for the first time in numbers. Also, they have to do some serious thinking about recently launched Yaris. It may get into double digit sales even before completing its first year.

Hexa is loosing market very fast (down to -28%) and sell is coming close to Storme. It is surprising why it is loosing market with all the marketing support and new marketing strategies?
If this trend continues soon it will meet fate of Aria.

Maruti:
1.) 2.5K numbers down on Wagon-R MoM. Immediately after the Santro launch.
2.) 2.5K numbers down for Ertiga MoM. Marazzo effect?

IMHO Wagon-R got the biggest hit due to Santro launch more than Tata Tiago. Thats good for Tata. We will have to watch for few more months to see how this settles down.

WagonR Production has been curtailed due to the impending new car in the coming months.
Ertiga production has been held as the new car in launching next week.

If thats the case then its good for Maruti. If they dont react fast and launch the new models for Wagon-R and Ertiga soon then these two models might get affected (atleast a bit IMHO).

I also think they might have purposely delayed New Ertiga launch to counter Marazzo effect. Thats just my opinion.

The numbers are quite surprising for the festive month. While, most years this month, the sales numbers are the highest in the year, in many cases the numbers are among the lowest in the year.
While I can count the Kerala floods(though these mostly impact onam sales than Dussera), and fuel prices as factors for the slow down, still I don't think it explains the slowdown entirely.
Marazzo has had a decent launch, though it has not impacted the sales of Innova.
Most of Maruti's cars have seen a fall in sales as compared to September.
Ford Aspire has managed to gain back its sales numbers and I don't expect it to start selling more unless Ford does more marketing on the petrol engines.
Tata Nexon has been performing well, and though Tiago numbers have fallen a little , maybe due to the launch of the Santro, the Tigor numbers have made up for it.
Santro has had a great start, and looks like it will soon be reaching 5 digit numbers.

The Safari has come close to Hexa by upping its sales and not the Hexa fallen too much. For much of the last 6/7 months it is close to the 650/700 mark.

But yes it is a surprise and a concern as to why sales are not picking up despite a lot of attention, I myself plan to get one but getting disheartened with the sales numbers
