I wanted a nice mint condition Skyline R33 S2 but its hard to get one from Australia since too many ricers already wrecked them So I decided last year to import one from japan.I have a Mate from whom I imported a Toyota Chaser jzx100 a year before.

Specs of the car I imported

Make:Nissan
Model:Skyline R33 GTST Series II
Year: 1996
Engine: RB25DET, 2.5 Litre Inline 6 cylinder
Aspiration: Forced Induction/Turbo charged (intercooled)
Transmission: 5 Speed manual

This is what I got initially.I drove car from Customs to my backyard.Pretty much stock! As you can see it was in really nice condition with 62000Ks on clock

So first japanese mod I had to do was Intake, I got a Pod Filter installed and had to change AFM sensor

Also I got the car serviced from the Compliance Garage,serviced differential , transmission and engine.

Now I needed was a Exhaust .CAT BACK of course since we cannot DECAT in Australia

It was bit used but who cares so I got it installed myself. Used my mate's garage to lift the car

it was right after changing exhaust ( sorry for the SMOKE which isn't really a smoke but dust)

After that I installed a EXEDY HD Clutch Kit

The next job was Turbo Timer, There was one already installed but hidden under the steering column which took me abt 4 months to figure out.I was trying to instal Apexi turbo timer but It wouldn't cut off the engine.

Then I found out it was something fishy going on. I opened the steering column and HKS turbo timer dropped from there I plugged in the wire in that and it worked!

thats how I fixed it and that my car right there.

I also installed aluminium Gear knob and racing pedals kit ;)

I also installed myself a HID kit 6000k's since its a Japanese car .

my next project was to paint the break-calipers(RED) and wheels to black .

I used High temp RED spray paint for break calipers and MATT black Engine enamel to paint the wheels

Next project I had was a Blow off Valve:

I got myself a blitz SS blow off Valve ( SS - Super Sound)
For that to put on my skyline I had to remove the stock BOV and I needed a adapter also called FLANGE. I ordered that from Ebay (UK) and it arrived in 1 week's time.

Blow off valve is :

to Install this on skyline I had to remove the stock bov and then block the vaccum pipe using a knob(blanking plug)

Its illegal to have a blow off valve on a car in Australia.But anyways I have installed it.

A week or so before I got my car serviced.
Used 10W50 Penrite Semi Synthetic Engine oil
and Changed the spark plugs to NGK Iridium spark plugs.

Also I had to replace the Exhaust manifold gaskets and Turbo gaskets.
Now car is back and running .

Now the theoretical part.

Nissan Skyline I wonder who doesn't know about these cars. A class of its own. A perfect drift/street Race/drag car.
-Ride is stiff (since its a sports car),
-Ride quality and handling wise i would give it 8.5 out of 10.
-Performance wise its faster then most of the cars on the road at the moment.
-Maintenance of these cars is cheaper then most of the European sports cars
-Running costs is likely to be high as it uses 98 Octane fuel
-Insurance is high as its a Import
Some of the features of the Series II skyline is
-The Ecu controls most of the things in the car
-Sensors all over the body makes it easier for the driver to let car adjust everything itself
-One main feature is the sensor on the rear differential.
On sharp curves if your driving the car at higher speed then normal, the REAR WHEELS of the car do turn to a small angel to bend thru the corner saving you from skidding and smashing the tail.

I am a proud owner of this skyline. The day I imported this car ( may 2010) so many people have asked me about this. They love it. its one of the cleanest skyline in my area.

-HKS Super Draggor exhaust with 3" Jasma catback pipe
-HKS turbo Timer
-Blitz SS Blow off valve
-Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch Kit
-NGK Iridium Spark plugs
-Pod Filter intake
-6000K HID Xenons Low beam lights
-White parkers and Number plate globes
-Aluminium Racing pedals and Gear knob
-Pioneer Head unit with pair of 6" on sides and 6x9" on rear and a monoblock sitting in the boot to rock the 1000W Rockwood Sub(US)

You have my respect as well. You have built an awesome car into an epic car. In fact I love the R33 R34 and R35 the most. Also i liked the fact that you didnt put bling bling rims so it looks kinda like a sleeper. Awesome!

Type R- Not into those bling bling tyres. If I wanted to get tyres it has to be JDM wheels such as volk , BBS, enkie,Nismo or something. I got new tyres on my car so will wait till the threads run out.

R32 looks small to me and R34 is bit Squary :p they have the same engines (R33 and R34)
R32 GTST comes with RB20DET which is bit underpowered as well.

even in R33 I like Series II not Series I
