Some of the highlighting features expected on the 2019 Toyota Corolla Altis are an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with several connectivity options, seven-inch TFT multi-info display, power adjustable driver seat, two-zone automatic climate control system, improved driver assistance and safety equipment and so on.


As for the mechanicals, the new Corolla Altis will likely use a 2.0-litre hybrid system making 180 horsepower in the US amidst a range of other regular IC engines. Priced between Rs. 16.27 lakh and Rs. 20.01 lakh (ex-showroom) in India across six different variants, it has choice of 1.8-litre petrol or 1.4-litre diesel mill.

The new Toyota Corolla will be launched in India in 2020 after the new BS-VI emission norms come into play. The new Toyota Corolla, now in its 12th generation, was unveiled a few months ago in its sedan form in China and will be a popular global model for the Japanese automaker. Speaking to Autocar India, N Raja, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “Looking at the technology, the new Toyota Corolla will get to come to India more with the time lines based on Bharat Stage Six and other things."

Toyota Corolla Altis Discontinued In India, New-Gen Could Come in 2021

Toyota Corolla Altis has been discontinued in India along with the Etios and Liva ahead of BSVI emission standards coming into effect from April 2020

The arrival of tenth generation Honda Civic in March 2019 acted as a hammer blow for the Corolla Altis as its segment-leading status was dethroned by its fellow compatriot. With BSVI emission standards coming into effect from April 2020, the D-segment sedan has been discontinued along with the Etios and Liva leaving Yaris, Innova Crysta, Fortuner and Vellfire as the only other models in the domestic range.
