Re: New Gen Skoda Superb Now Launched in India

Not necessarily Gautam. I have seen cars driven all the way to dealer as well. Not only this, the day you see an Audi covered with covers (they have peculiar White Cover which looks like Camo/Jacket) you'll be really confused whether it's test mule or a fresh car.

Ohk, Thanks Sir. My bad I assumed it as Test Mules.

Re: New Gen Skoda Superb Now Launched in India

Why did Skoda increase price like 6-7 lacs in one year?
Buddies,

We attended the Delhi Launch of the all new Skoda Superb today in DLF Emporio, New Delhi. The launch event was fantastic and in Delhi, the all new Superb costs at Ex-Showroom price of Rs. 23.11 Lacs. The pricing is fantastic and kills it's Japanese competitors by miles. Sharing here the official coverage of the launch event exclusively for The Automotive India.

Re: New Gen Skoda Superb Now Launched in India

@Akash1886 Why did Skoda increase price like 6-7 lacs in one year?
Must be because of the input costs going up and then the tax structure post GST and also because of the craze that Octavia & Superb have developed among the loyalists.

Actually re-sale isn't only subject to the model. There are many criteria like car's history, present condition and asking price etc. The loyal base for Skoda in India isn't as large as that of Mercedes or BMW. Also, it depends if the buyer is willing to invest in a used Skoda model. There are high chances that many enthusiasts would prefer a new factory finished Skoda Octavia RS/Superb over a used example.

2018 Skoda Superb entry price reduced by Rs 2 lakhs – New variant launched

Skoda has launched a special edition of the Superb and called it the Corporate Edition. It comes in with an introductory price tag of Rs 23.49 lakhs and is positioned below the Style 1.8 TSI variant in the Skoda Superb lineup.

This means that the entry level price of Skoda Superb has been reduced by more than Rs 2 lakhs. Earlier, the most affordable Skoda Superb variant on offer was the Style TSI MT variant, which is priced at Rs 25.58 lakhs, ex-showroom.

Price cut means, there is a cut in feature list? Well, not in the case of Superb Corporate Edition. Skoda is basically selling the Candy White Style variant for a discount of about Rs 2.1 lakhs. Corporate Edition has the same feature list as seen on the Style variant. The offer is only valid for existing Volkswagen and Skoda customers for now.

Skoda Superb Corporate is only offered in petrol 1.8 TSI with manual transmission. The 1.8 liter, 4 cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine offers 177 bhp power and 320 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual.

The same engine is also offered with 7 speed dual clutch transmission, but not with Corporate edition. Other engine setup on offer with the Superb is 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine (but not on Corporate Superb). This is capable of 175 bhp power and 350 Nm torque mate to a 6 speed dual clutch transmission.

The Czech automaker has aggressive plans where its product strategy for global markets is concerned. Skoda will be launching 9 new cars in the next three years with most of these being new generation cars of existing models. The Octavia will enter its fourth generation in 2020 while the Skoda Fabia will also get a new generation model in 2021.

By the end of this financial year, Skoda plans launch of a new Rapid, Kodiaq vRS and the Karoq SUV. They also have plans to launch a new Made in India SUV to rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Vitara. This will launch by 2020.

2018 Skoda Superb SportLine with added features – India launch soon

A few days after launching the Corporate Edition, Skoda India has now teased the launch of a new variant of Superb – SportLine. Unlike the Corporate Edition, which is based on the entry level variant, the SportLine variant is based on the Style variant.

Skoda Superb SportLine is already available in UK market, and it is expected that the Indian variant will be quite similar to it in terms of design and features. This includes a sharper styling, new red colour, black grille, gloss black treatment on the headlight, and so on.

Teaser image released on Skoda India website looks quite similar to the UK version. However, there may be differences in engine configuration and gearbox to suit Indian conditions. In UK, Skoda has also launched a high-end variant called SportLine Plus. It’s not yet confirmed whether Skoda will be launching SportLine Plus variant in India.

In the UK, the new Skoda Superb SportLine gets a shorter ground clearance, to add to its sporty stance. The ride is lowered by 15 mm. But that might not happen with India-spec variant as here road conditions are not that great. You also get 19 inch optional dual tone alloys with the SportLine.

Powering the Skoda Superb SportLine in India could be both petrol and diesel engine options. These are 1.8 liter TSI petrol turbo generating 180 PS and 320 Nm via 6 speed manual or DSG. The diesel engine is 2.0 liter TDI generating 177 PS and 350 Nm via 6 speed DSG. Diesel engine does not get a manual option.

Standard features for Super SportLine in India include 8 airbags, ABS with EBD and BA, keyless entry, start/stop button, sunroof, automatic AC, etc. Expect price to be in the range of Rs 30 lakhs for the Skoda Superb SportLine.

2018 Skoda Superb Sportline launched at Rs 28.99 lakh

Skoda has silently launched the new Sportline trim for its flagship sedan, the Superb, priced at Rs 28.99 lakh for the petrol model and Rs 31.49 lakh for the diesel. The new mid-spec trim slots below the top-spec Lauren & Klement variant and, as the name suggests, gets sporty cosmetic changes.

Skoda Superb, Octavia & Kodiaq to get Virtual Cockpit as optional accessory

Skoda has introduced a new virtual cockpit for its Octavia, Superb, Kodiaq and Karoq models. Instead of analogue dials and gauges, Skoda owners can now opt for a fully programmable instrument panel with high-definition electronic display. Skoda Virtual Cockpit was so far only limited to its luxury models, but now the Czech car manufacturer is extending the digital system for all its cars. Initially, the Virtual Cockpit will be introduced for Octavia, Superb, and Karoq, followed by the Kodiaq later this year.

Skoda Superb Sportline showcased at the Autocar Performance Show 2018.

The Sportline variant brings an increased sense of dynamism to the mid-size sedan. At the front, it features a glossy black upper grille frame and darkened fog lamps, but not darkened headlamps, unlike in Europe.

The 2019 ŠKODA SUPERB Corporate Edition: dynamic, elegant, emotive
20190116_ŠKODA SUPERB Corporate Edition.png

The 2019 ŠKODA SUPERB Corporate Edition will be available at an ex-showroom price of INR 23.99 lacs

Offered exclusively to existing ŠKODA customers, the SUPERB Corporate Edition blurs the line between beauty and functionality without compromising on comfort

Equipped with 1.8 TSI (MT) petrol engine, the 2019 SUPERB Corporate Edition is available in two colour options: Candy White and on popular customer demand, the all new Magnetic Brown

ŠKODA’s ‘Peace of Mind’ campaign to focus on the cost of ownership with India’s first 4 Year Service Care: 4 Year Warranty, 4 Year Road Side Assistance, and optional 4 Year Maintenance Package

Mumbai, 16 January, 2019:
Stirred by the success in 2018, ŠKODA AUTO India introduces the 2019 SUPERB Corporate Edition at an attractive introductory ex-showroom price of INR 23.99 lacs exclusively for ŠKODA customers. The SUPERB Corporate Edition serves to cater a demand for a modern emotionally-rich design, a high degree of functionality, generous proportions and dimensions, innovative safety solutions, superlative ownership experience, and unparalleled ‘value for money’ proposition.

The Corporate Edition is equipped with the 1.8 TSI (MT) petrol engine from the SUPERB model range which produces an impressive 180 PS (132 kW) of power and a torque output of 320 Nm while delivering fuel efficiency of 14.64 kmpl. The demand for an AT iteration was identified among its customers, which ŠKODA AUTO is contemplating to introduce towards the later part of the year. The 2019 SUPERB Corporate Edition will be available in two colour options: Candy White and the all new Magnetic Brown, across all authorized ŠKODA dealership facilities in the country.

EMOTIVE DESIGN

The front view of the ŠKODA SUPERB Corporate Edition is characterized by a wide radiator grille, an elongated bonnet, wide headlights, and razor-sharp front fog lights. The perfectly balanced proportions, the large glass areas and headlamps sweeping around the sides lend the car’s profile an extraordinary visual presence and emotional appeal. The rear of the car depicts a skilful play of convex and concave forms. The dark brushed décor with the stone beige leather upholstery uses the dialect of elegance that reflects the glorious ŠKODA history and design language.

SAFETY AND SMART ASSISTANCE

At ŠKODA AUTO, safety is a priority and not an option. The standard safety equipment in the 2019 SUPERB Corporate Edition includes a wide array of features, such as eight air bags: dual front air bags, side airbags at front and rear, curtain airbags at front and rear, and five three-point seatbelts.

The headlamps of the SUPERB Corporate Edition come with the AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) function for optimum illumination of the road and its surroundings. These headlamps are able to respond to speed changes as well as to various light and weather conditions. The AFS system includes headlamp swivelling and cornering functions, in addition to dynamic headlamp inclination control.

The Multi-Collision Brake system makes use of the ESC (Electronic Stability Control), and if the driver’s or front passenger’s airbag is activated, the system prevents uncontrolled movement of the vehicle and thus reduce the likelihood of further collisions. The rear view camera, with an integrated washer, located on the handle of the boot door monitors the space behind the car and indicates the driving lanes, based on the vehicle width.

‘SIMPLY CLEVER’ SOLUTIONS

The 2019 ŠKODA SUPERB Corporate Edition hosts a plethora of the most technically advanced and intelligent connectivity features that add a practical twist to elegance. The state-of-the-art 20.32 cm floating touchscreen display with proximity sensor is a part of the new generation Amundsen infotainment system developed by ŠKODA. It is equipped with SmartLink™ technology (ŠKODA Connectivity bundles supporting MirrorLink®, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto) which mirrors the smartphone for seamless connectivity and undistracted drive. New age ‘Simply Clever’ connectivity solutions along with BossConnect, integrated with ŠKODA Media Command App help occupants control functions like radio, music and navigation from the comfort of the rear seat.

The Three Zone Climatronic air conditioning, with clean air function, enables different temperatures to be set for the driver, the front and the rear passengers. It’s also fitted with a humidity sensor which reduces the windscreen misting. The Boarding Spots, designated to illuminate the entry area, are located on the external side-view mirrors and on the underside of the front and rear doors. It allows you to see where you’re stepping when it’s dark outside.

With a capacity of 625 litres, stretched to 1,760 litres with the rear seat backrests folded down, the new SUPERB Corporate Edition is at the top of its class in space. It transcends to maximised space and practicality for all your business, pleasure and practical essentials. The illuminated and cooled Jumbo Box storage compartment, housed in the front armrest, is extremely convenient for storing your gadgets, house keys, books and beverages. The ‘Easy Open’ bottle holder has an anti-slip design which allows the driver to open a bottle with just one hand.

ŠKODA ASSURANCE

ŠKODA announced its 4 year service care program which consists of a 4 year warranty program and a 4 year (24 x 7) Road Side Assistance which is standard on all ŠKODAs. Additionally, customers have an option to purchase a 4 year service package at a nominal price which ensures a hassle-free ownership experience.

I had a chance to sit in my dad's friend's 2018 Skoda Superb Style TDI AT.Wow,what a comfort!I'm truly impressed with the comfort levels of the new Superb and I already had a ride in dad's another friend's Superb Elegance TDI AT 2011 version but the 2018 Superb is miles ahead than old Superb.I always feel that our Honda City and Innova is best in terms of comfort, but Superb is 2 segments ahead in terms of comfort and it even beats BMW and Merc in comfort levels and the Superb is my dad's favourite car after Innova.

Our next car would be either a Superb or an Octavia in another 1-2 years down the line as my dad loves the comfort offered by these cars or else,a car under Rs.20L would enter into our garage by not replacing Honda City or Innova.

The Superb, which my dad's friend bought, was bought during 2018 Dussehra for nearly Rs.37L and after discounts, the car costed him around Rs.32-33L at Mahavir Skoda and it has run around 6600 Kms in 3 months and did highway runs during Telangana elections. The colour of the car which he bought is Magnetic Brown.
