Another ugly cosmetic change, Maruti slowly and steadily losing the plot, hope VDi variant carries ABS as standard fitment.
For 10+ years we say the same thing - the car is ugly, etc. and competition is yet to catch up in this segment.
They do know the market and will rule this segment for years to come.

Maruti will do anything in the Indian market like these ugly face lifts which will not affect their sales. They knows it.This face lift is just to ensure their position and to prevent other competitors reaching their play ground.Monopoly rules.

Dzire (Diesel)becomes the most fuel efficient car in India. Takes the honours from Ciaz.
New Maruti DZire delivers 26.59kmpl on diesel .

Not sure if I am missing something, but please help me understand. Swift and Dzire share the same engines in the same tune and Swift is lighter. Then how can Dzire be more fuel efficient than Swift? Is it because of there is some difference in the tuning? But if Yes, why was that tuning not done in Swift?? Im totally confused.

Ciaz Diesel for instance has the same DDIS engine too, the art of achieving different mileages ihas been mastered by Maruti Suzuki engineers. They tune it differently.

They are back with a vengeance on getting back the 'most fuel efficient' crown which they lost in some of the segments to competition.

See what they will achieve now with the Start/Stop feature when introduced shortly.

Buddies,

The facelift Maruti Suzuki Dzire finally reached my uncle's Showroom in Noida. Here are some pics of the interiors of the new Dzire. Some sore points in the VDi version are lack of Airbags, Alloys rims, steering mounted control and Push Button Start. Though ABS and EBD are present along with Electric ORVMs, an AT Transmission option and integrated entertainment panel. The interiors looks pretty decent with wooden inserts and good quality fabric has been used.

Yes sir, I agree that Maruti knows to tune the engine for mileage better than anyone in the world. But, my point is in terms of weight Ciaz > Dzire > Swift. Now, Ciaz has a VGT and other two has FGT. So, I will take Ciaz off the comparison as the engines are tuned differently. So with Dzire and Swift having the same engine and tune with Swift weighing less, shouldn't Swift have a better mileage??

What is making Dzire the most fuel efficient car? Is the Dzire tuned differently compared to Swift? If Yes, WHY?? If not, is it because of the aerodynamics of a Sedan being different to that of a hatchback which is negating the weight advantage?

Yes aerodynamic parameters like drag coefficient play an important role in influencing fuel-efficiency significantly between an hatchback and sedan.
