Did two road trips this month. One to Jaipur and the second one to Ludhiana.

Car performed extremely well and I keep the car below 100kmph because of safety and mileage reasons. I don't take the brezza on highway anymore. Elantra seems much more planted and safer than the brezza.
Car gave 14.5 kmpl( 300kms highway , 150kms city ) so I am assuming around 16kmpl for the highway.

So today it was raining continuously from Ludhiana to Delhi. Covered 300kms in 7:30 hours.

when driving in rains always make sure to clean your headlights whenever you stop. I didn't and it compromised the visibility.

I cleaned the headlights with my fingers and difference is remarkable.

Also the grill paint has gone because of the heavy rain plus high speed drive. Any suggestions for a permanent fix ? Can't paint it every now and then.

Car odo crossed 19k kms.

I always do the same , whenever I take a break at petrol pumps or restaurants , or when parking in hotel for overnight , I pull out wiper blades (A wet wiper blade , often thins out when the water dries off the windshield , causing it to wear prematurely , i think most of us know , that blades get damaged by sun , but this also is a phenomenon , I am quite familiar with , as in Kerala , we get drizzles most times irrespective of season ) , and also I wipe both Headlamps , foglamps , taillights , all glasses , mirrors .

For fixing your front grill , I think its due to poor paint job , if you are quite sure of the workmanship , try painting with , better primers (MRF has a special primer , used in metal grill works , it costs 800 for a set of 2 tins , one has the primer base , and another its solvent, and its mixed 1:1 / 1:2 , I don't remember the ratio ) , apply this primer coat , let it dry for 2 days ,and then do the paint job , for me at home , it is lasting for more than 1 year as of now , exposed extremely to sun and heavy rains , not a trace of rust nor paint peel off.

@ Vishnu @bhvm - I have tried two paint shops and it didn't last long. Wrapping will be difficult on the grill. Lots of things going on.

@kumar - thanks for pointing it out. I didn't check it. Although I got the insurance from the dealer itself. Will get it rectified.

Looks like the Primer they are using is not fit for Plastic (most paint shops have primers for Metal surfaces).
I used Rustoleum Plastic primer for my entire Safari project (plastic parts) and the paint is doing far better than my expectations.

Car is nearing 21500kms. Sitting in the parking for more than a month now.

Went today to start the car for some time and noticed foul smell. Instantly knew there was a rat mess and upon further inspection found paper stuck between the hand brake , near the centre console , rat poop under the front seat with other bits of paper and I found the culprit. There was a snack packet in the glove console.
Cleared all the area , disinfected it and sprayed some air freshner.

Also I couldn't notice any coolant level in the reservoir. If it were green I think it should have been visible. Will get it checked after lockdown ends. Service was due in this month.

Do check your car weekly and get rid of any paper or eatable items from your car especially parked under the shade.

Car has covered 8000kms since last service which was about 13 months back. Still thinking to give the car for service or not ? Delhi has too many cases now. I don't drive much though now a days.
What do you recommend ?

I can give the car for free pickup and drop and let the car sit for 4-5 days or even more before driving again. Shall be no danger of virus in the car after so many days.

The reports from all sources (worldwide) that the Virus is going to be there for long and people are asked to live with the virus as further lockdown is not at all recommended.

So, if your service centre willing to do pick up and drop service, then suggest doing the service and also ask them to sanitize the car before dropping it back at your home. Do not go into the car at least for overnight and then clean/sanitize the front seat (the driver who sat in there while dropping the car at your home) and steering wheel and nearby places.

Hope others will also agree to this kind of arrangement?

Thanks for your reply. It's confusing from where to get the car serviced from. The usual service centre is not offering pickup and drop , will give the car tomorrow to the one nearest my home. Will update soon.

Got the car back. Bill was zero , don't know why they billed 4.7 liters of engine oil when recommended is 4.0 liters. Will check the dipstick after 2-3 days.
Had a small bottle of sanitizer in the car which is now nowhere to be seen [:D] I didn't check thoroughly , will do that after 2-3 days.
