Look's like a minor facelift, it might be launched in US this year not sure when it will make it to india.
Audi told us a new R8 was coming, and now our spy shooters have caught it testing. The good news is that the car still looks stunning. The bad news is that's because the original R8 design has aged so well.

What we're seeing in these photos doesn't indicate much has changed outside of minor tweaks to the front fascia that seem mostly designed to accommodate new headlights with a different LED pattern. The rear fascia and taillights are similarly reconfigured, with round twin tailpipes like the R8 GT, but without the side ducting.

When they sent us the images, KPG Photography also speculated that this forthcoming R8 update will ditch the R-tronic sequential automatic transmission for a dual-clutch gearbox. That's in line with rumors we've heard for the next-generation R8, which indicate that the DSG will be the only transmission available.

+1 & I liked R8 look more than Ferrari or lambos, not to forget that R8 is the only super-car which you can use for day to day travel, besides Porsche 911 turbo.

Forget top gear. These are the same chaps who said BMW 7 series sport is better than Mercedes S Class AMG.

It's hard to believe that Audi launched the R8 a full seven years ago. Since that time, the automaker has kept the two-seat sports car fresh with several changes including the addition of the roofless Spyder, an optional V10 and the sportier GT model, but now Audi has determined that it's finally time for the model's first full-on refresh. Today, Audi revealed the revamped 2013 R8 lineup, highlighted by subtle styling changes, a seven-speed S-tronic transmission (no more dreadful R-tronic!) and a new flagship V10 Plus model.

It takes a keen eye to pick out the design changes to the new R8, the most prominent being the redesigned LED headlights and taillights that come standard on all models. Audi has also revised the front bumper and grille, and out back, there's a larger diffuser and new circular tailpipes.

Perhaps the biggest change to the R8 for 2013 is the addition of the new seven-speed S-tronic transmission that utilizes two mult-plate clutches. Each clutch engages with two independent sub-transmissions and alternately select gears, resulting in smoother shifts that take mere hundredths of as second. Thankfully, a six-speed manual is still offered, although Audi claims that the car equipped with the S-tronic is actually faster to 60 miles per hour by three-tenths of a second in all models.

A new R8 V10 Plus arrives at the flagship model, featuring the same carbon fiber reinforced plastic used on the R8 GT. The front splitter, mirrors, side blades, rear diffuser and lining for the engine compartment are all constructed of the lightweight material. The 5.2-liter V10 has also been slightly improved compared to the standard V10 model, producing 550 horsepower and 398 pound-feet torque.

European models will start rolling off the line at the end of this year.

Rendering – 2015 Audi R8 features an even radical styling

The 2015 Audi R8 is the second generation supercar from the Ingolstadt based car maker. First introduced in 2006, the R8 has been well received by enthusiasts and wanna-be enthusiasts alike. Audi marketed the R8 to be an ‘everyday supercar’ and this certainly appealed to a lot of customers.

The next generation R8 will go on sale sometime in 2015. It will retain the proportions of the current generation car though. In fact, the Lamborghini Gallardo successor and the next generation R8 are expected to share a lot of components between them.

The use of Carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) will ensure a weight saving of about 23kg in the new R8. Carbon fiber is expected to form 23% of the R8′s chassis and as a result the supercar is expected to be even stiffer.

Audi is also rumored to use glass fibre-reinforced polymer coils in the suspension of the new car, which is another weight saving yet performance enhancing feature. When the R8 was announced, it was one of the first cars to feature the revolutionary MagneRide suspension. Small metallic parts inside the dampers of the car change their arrangement with a changing magnetic field. As a result, the ride can be soft over a bad stretch of road and instantly change to a dynamic mode when the road condition improves.

The same engines are expected to continue, though they will be tuned to offer better power and economy.

All-new Audi R8 spied testing

A heavily camouflaged test mule of the 2015 Audi R8 has been caught testing at the Nurburgring. It is hard to dismiss it as anything else and the car seems much sportier than before.
The spotted test mule reveals the car will come with an aggressive front end with angular headlamps and big air dams. The body line reveals distinct sideblades, flared rear fenders and an active rear spoiler. The model also has slender taillights; an aggressive rear diffuser and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.

The entry-level R8 might use an updated version of the 4.2-litre V8 FSI engine that develops more than 423bhp and 430 Nm of torque. There might be an updated version of the 5.2-litre V10 engine which may crank out more than 517bhp and 530 Nm of torque. The engines might work in sync with a dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox powering all four wheels via the Quattro system.

Originally slated to go into production in mid-2014,several changes seem to have affected the happening and pushed back the launch date further.

Audi R8 caught testing

Less camouflaged pictures of the second generation Audi R8 are coming from the Nurburgring circuit. The sports car wore a black wrap which clearly shows the subtle contour changes from the current version. The vehicle is expected to hit the world in 2015 and will replace the current R8 which was introduced back in 2007. R8 is one of the most successful flagship model for Audi, and the company is eying strategically to keep the design similar to that of the current R8 – thats what people adore the most about R8.

Keeping the timeless design similar, the new car definitely looks sharper and mature. We are constantly posting you on the second generation R8, earlier the car was spotted with fully camouflage at same place. This time the head and tail light design are clearly visible, the front get major revise, new grille, air diffusers and of course restyled head lamp. The test mule head lamp misses the 'LEDs' detailing but expect the car to get the Audi's latest Matrix LED lightings. At the rear, the car get narrowed tail lamps, quad exhaust and aggressive diffusers. The side profile seem to be the part which is left untouched.

Audi will try the same old successful formula – Lamborghini chassis, Lamborghini derived motor and of course the 'raging bull' know-how in the sport car arena – its is expected that the 2nd gen R8 is based on the Lambo Huracan. The second generation inherits 'Quattro' – all wheel drive. Audi didn't say anything about the motors but the car will get up-rated engine from the current line-up. The car might hit the big-screens next year with the Avengers: Age of Ultron, just like the Mustang did with Need for speed.
