Hi All,
I bought my first car, Maruti Alto Lx, in 2006 at Bangalore. The car is registered in Bangalore (KA-51M-). In the year 2007 I took a NOC from the RTO (Bangalore), as I was planning to move to Chennai. The NOC was issued; however, I subsequently never moved to Chennai.
The mistake that I made is not to cancel the NOC, neither did I go to the RTO in Chennai to find out about the papers. In the year 2008 I moved to Hyderabad and subsequently paid the road tax there and have been driving the car since last 4 years.
Now, I'm planning to sell the car, however, I understand that I cannot make an ownership transfer unless I fix the issue with the NOC. Bangalore RTO is not willing to help me, as they are maintaining that they sent all papers to Chennai as soon as the NOC was issued. I'm not sure if the RTO in Chennai will be able to help me in this case as I never approached them in last 5 yrs. regarding this.
Any help/tips/suggestions would be highly appreciated.
