Guys i am back with my travelogue to Golden temple at Sripuram, with a worth visit to Thiruvannamalai as well.

This was a short trip with total distance covering 548.5 kms to & fro.

This is a fresh travelogue which was done yesterday(Jul-13-10).

All the family members were happy esp(grand ma) on her 1st visit to Golden temple.

The time clock was ticking as usual it was 5 am i woke rubbing my eyes, thinking should i get up.

There came a call from my mom , was a wake up call.

Thought not again , had to clean my hawk all alone myself.

Then it was already 6.30 am , had to pick relatives from their home.

And it was 7 am , all gathered .

Went to Advaith fuel Station BTM, filled the diesel(Full Tank).

Then headed to Hosur road straight away, took the Electronic city expressway over the flyover.

Within in no time the joy ended, as it was time to pay the toll.[confused]

Then headed straightly towards Hosur, All the family members were hungry.

1st Pitstop:
Saw a nice Hotel , It was Adyar Anand Bahavan(A2B in short),all were refuelled.
Took a few pics, It was a new Verna (eek i didn't like it).
But still clicked a pick .

2nd Pitstop:PADMAVATHI PARSHWA TEMPLE(In tamil Setu Koil)
Then headed towards krishnagiri & in between this route, there is a beautiful jain temple(Padmavathi Parshwa Temple).
It's a nice place with the temple built fully with Marble & Granite stone.
[rules]
Strict rules: You cannot wear Black dress, watch & enter this temple.

Luckily none of us had worn black.

3rd Pitstop: GOLDEN TEMPLE(In Tamil Tanga Koil)
Yes it was Golden Temple, Just after toll called Palikonda toll booth take a right turn towards Sripuram which directly leads you to golden temple. This time it took 15 km less it was 220 kms from my home(earlier 235 kms)
During my previous visits i used to go to vellore & then used to take sripuram crossing.

After visiting temple we were hungry & were in search of our afteernoon lunch.
We heard a name Saravana Bhavan which is famous for food all over Chennai.
We were in desperate search for this hotel.
Finally after enquiring with few auto drivers & exhaustive search we got the hotel.

Let the pics speak.

To be continued......

Great pics man.
I envy you after seeing such clean wide and empty roads.
And the Verna seriously looks like horrible.

Nice travelogue Mukesh. Hope you had a fun and it’s always a pleasure to drive on such clean and empty stretches with nice weather. There’s an A2B in Delhi too, and I've been to it. That’s probably the best budget restaurant for South Indian cuisine with superb service.

Thanks Arun, A sigh of relief.
I was eager to show all TAI'ns the new Verna, As they were just discussing the pics from web.
So posted it.
You also didn't like it.[thumbsup]
I liked the earlier version it was cute.
I think they tried to copy from Maruti's SX-4 is what i feel.

Exactly dude.
Nice observation there.
I wonder only we two don't like the design. We should have a poll and check it.

The older one was awesome. What could happen if all hates it. Fall of Verna??
Looking that pic each time makes me think that Verna is gonna be epic fail.

Thanks Arun, A sigh of relief.

Continued part...

After the delicious lunch in Saravana Bhavan, I had confusion whether to visit Kanchipuram or Thiruvannamalai.
Hardly it was a 20 km gap between 2 places.
It was 60 kms to Kanchipuram & 80 kms to Thiruvannamalai from Sripuram.
My dad had visited Kanchi, this made me to go for unexplored place i.e. Thiruvannamalai.

I took the following route: From Sripuram(Golden Temple)-Kaniyambadi-Kannamangalam(Police Station Right Turn)-Polur-Kalasapakam-Nehru Nagar-Thiruvannamalai(Arunachaleshwara Temple)

Followed the above route, though there was several deviations was asking auto drivers , They told the route precisely.

But one thing i didn't like was people in the bus spitting through the window
[gun] eating Gutka etc. It irked me a lot.
It took much time for me to clean.

And people here can't understand signal esp 2 wheelers, They were all going through one way , And cop was there standing dumb.
And when i asked the way to temple the people showed the wrong way(One way route).
But i thought there would be another way & went in correct direction.
And people here are least bothered, & drive as they wish.
And no traffic knowledge at all.

Even when i had put the indicator to right & was moving slowly to right, a boy in TVS tried to squeeze in limited space.
And started looking at me, & another one seeing that we are from karnataka came & was speaking some thing in Tamil.
I told him boss who are you , My dad knew tamil scolded him.
Then he left quitely.
I can't understand why these people poke there nose , If they don't have any other work to do.
To say in one word : People doesn't have traffic sense at all.[anger]

Sorry for OT.
Cause i wanted to share my experience with you all.

Now coming back to temple Arunachaleshwara temple.
It was a good experience there was huge gopura's all the way.
A must visit place.
A huge elephant was greeting us all the way.

Some more pics.

Don’t stop because no one is responding, I’m following this thread and we’ve a lot of visitors who may find this Travelogue interesting and helpful. Pictures are great as always but 2nd and 5th are the best. We can continue Verna related discussions in Verna's thread itself.
