DIY Changing the Brake Pad on my SWIFT Vxi at my home.
My swift front brake pads were not fully worn out,but were making lots of screeching sounds. There was lot of brake fading too.Surprising thing was that even after 44,000 kms swift was on original brake pads, and OEM pads were not even worn out to HALF its thickness(as can be seen in the pictures). They had just gone very hard over the years, and were giving brake fade issue as well as unpredictable braking+ screeching sounds.I ordered the part no from my catalogue and procured the same from the dealer the required parts and went about changing them in my home.I had a lazy sunday evening dedicated to it.I disassembles both sides brake assembly and fished out the brake pads.Final result was very satisfactory. Now no more screeching and fading issues. Its performing like new!!
ADVICE:Brake pads should always be changed in pairs ie both the sides at the same time.

@Mayank, this is amazing collection you have. Can you please post links on the puncture repair kit, tyre inflator and tyre pressure monitor you purchased? Seems interesting. Puncture repair in tubeless tyres is very easy and would rather do it myself than get looted by the puncture shops.

This tyre inflator is even better than the coido one I have.
I use VIAIR 85P portable compressor since 2011 and VIAIR digital pressure gauge since 2014. But, I was very keen on buying a portable compressor that runs on 230V mains so that P Cheetah's battery would not be overloaded. My search ended at Heyner, Germany, coinciding with my daughter's official visit to Paris. I ordered it with Heyner, UK, got it shipped to Paris and daughter brought it to Bangalore. Now, VIAIR 85P remains unused in P Cheetah and Heyner stays at home. I always use Heyner. [:)][clap]

DIY Changing the suspension arms of swift petrol at home
There was weird khatar-khatar sound coming from both sides of suspension in my swift. After repeatedly driving and braking (over rough roads),the sound was diagnosed by me,to be coming from worn out front suspension arm bushes.I raised my car on the jack-stands and on close inspection found torn rubber and disintegrated bushes resulting in the sound.I procured 2 brand new suspension arms from the dealer and went about changing them.End result-Its totally soundless no-matter at what speed and at what rough road you drive. It took me 2 hrs total and the labour was free [:)]
Now the pictures..

nice impressive collection of tools & usage too.
I too have a small collection of tools, but not this big.
Doesn't matter how big/small it is .I am all eyes for your tool collection.Do post your pics.It will be an honour to me.I am not kidding.

p.s.. I am happy My tools thread got you interested. You see, what all things,(in fact huge lot of things) you did with your two m800,motivated me to join TAI.Seriously,You, varun, and shashi, bhvm and akash have been the soul of this forum. And the DIY I did is nothing what you did in front of your house with your m800 and nano. And still I look up to these names on this forum.
